am i the only one that prefers my 650sx?

I tell you what after riding both back to back these past few days I prefer my 650 to my 750. they are both all stock and the 650 is so much easier to jump. ive got nice flairs and nose stabs on the 650 can barely get the 750 to move. am I doing something wrong? im highly considering -2 or 3 on the hull and tubbies and a lighter pole. may cut shorter if I get a wild hair up my rump. but it really needs more power.

now to be fair, my 750 carves and runs bouee's sooooo much better. but for playing in big boat wakes the 650 is so much fun.

I love my 650sx too, but my 750 SXi moves for sure. The 650 is awesome for sliding for days and subs easy, but for sheer altitude the power of the 750 gives me a lot bigger air off boat wakes.
By playing in wakes you mean jumping, right?

yeah, we have lots of big wake boats out here that run setup for us. my 750's hae always been fun especially with the real big stuff like freighter wakes and in the great lakes, but im starting to think a few mods to the 650 hull and the power of the 750 I think it will be a blast. idk y everyone hates on this hull so much. maybe im nuts

The 750 is a turd. It's more of a turd than the sxr. All of the 750s and the sxr are built for racing. I rode a 750sc and the nose felt like a tank. I didn't ride it but for a few minutes, but I know it was the wrong kind of boat.

You should find some time on a Superjet before you invest money into your 650sx. The Superjet is a much more versatile ski. Unlike the 650sx vs 750sx comparison where the 650 is easier to throw and the 750 is easier to carve, the Superjet is better at both.

The available parts for the 650sx are cheaper, so if your are on a tight budget and have a good clean strong running 650, then by all means upgrade it. However, if you can afford a auperjet and parts for it, you will find that the auperjet is much more prepared to grow with you.

For the record, I don't hate the 650sx. I had a blast on mine.

I have a comparison that may help.

I use to ride a warrior 350 atv. My friends said upgrade it. I said no, I'm saving for a yfz450. They said but you already have this, just buy a few parts and it will be better.

The warrior is 4 inches narrower, has poopty suspension geometry, single stage shocks with no piggybacks, has a shorter wheel base, less displacement, etc. so by the time I would have been done spending more money on the warrior than a yfz would cost, I would still have 2 valves instead of 5, steel valves instead of titanium, antiquated cam design, smaller cockpit, no accelerator pump in my carb, etc.

The yfz is a better platform than the warrior. You can spend all the money on the world on a warrior and it will still underperform a yfz.

The 650sx sucks compared to a Superjet the same way a 750sd sucks compared to a sxr. They were great boats for their time, and they are enjoyable now, but for those who can afford to spend a little more on modern better technology, they suck.

honestly have a lot of time on a round nose just wasn't enough of a fan to spend the money. next step is straight to an aftermarket hull (in negotiation for a gen1 bob right now) and also looking at transplanting my 750 setup into an eme micro. the 650 will be kept around for friends that want to ride and stuff when they want to come out.

and yes I love my 750's speed and handling but its just not as fun. so im thinking carb head and pipe for the 650, nothing insane and a few cheap hull mods. make her fun. leave the 7 stock until I pick up a micro probably next year.

I did not do any mods to mine, but the last time I rode it was after I did a sub, ingested water and grenaded my crank.

I might take your 750 hull off your hands. I love the way 750's handle for both racing and freestyle. They just need some tubbies and a big d cut ride plate. And like Vumad said they are a turd so to remedy that you just slap a 701 in there. I built this one several years ago, loved it!

I prefer my 650 over a lot of stuff. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I rode a ski that wasn't a 650 (and this is my 3rd year riding) and over an hour period I rode a 2013 stock SJ, a modded RN and a modded SN, and an Octane. The SJ handling was crazy how it leaned over and they felt wicked powerful, but I didn't like how they handled since you couldn't slide them easily and they tended to buck you off if you did try to slide them. My ski felt much lighter and flickable, as well as more powerful and that was without the nitrous. Course, my ski makes our other stockish 650 feel like a whale, but I definitely preferred the handling of mine though I've tailored mine to my riding style a bit...

It's amazing for jumping! My handlepole had stiffness issues so I haven't been able to go hard at trying barrel rolls or flips but I should be starting practicing (mainly rolls) next week since I've reinforced it. I've tried a few flips but don't have any form but it rotates around easily, I doubt I'll ever pull one off but maybe with a big wake and if I have my nitrous jetted for a poop load of power...

One thing it does have issues with is nose stabs since it's hard to get the nose down once you start going up into the air, though if I aim the nozzle down it might help. Can still do subs fine though even though it's so short!
