Amsoil dominator...

Anyone run Amsoil dominator in their skis? Anyone use it with skis that have power valves? I’m worried about rust since it isn’t a tcw3. Would it be fine to use in saltwater? Do y’all fog you engine after riding everytime? Or am I better off with Amsoil hp marine? I’m worried the hp marine won’t hold up to the high heat from the skis. Thanks y’all

Just to add, ski engines aren't "high heat" as they have a constant supply of cold water to cool them and aren't held wide open for long lengths of time.

Amsoil makes a very good product, as do all other oil manufactures. I have been running Amsoil products in my vehicles, 2 stroke engines (skis, blowers, saws), air compressors, lawn mowers, and anything with an oil reserve in my shop/garage since I was old enough to buy my own oil, they truly make a product for every application!

What Amsoil do you run in your ski?

Im a pretty simple guy, when I think something works I dont change it. I have used dominator in my 900 since day one and the same has followed through with every two stroke engine I own. Until recently I was forced to switch to a different oil for my comp 900 due to running E85 which Dominator is not designed to mix with and stay mixed for a consistent amount of time.

Put a 701 in my jetmate allowed me to tune and watch the engine real time while going full throttle across the lake. While at idle and as soon as you stop the engine was always around 130-150F; but while riding at full throttle the cylinder head temps would drop as low as 110F.

I was actually wondering what normal temps were. I was doin some research and the Amsoil hp marine was a replica somewhat of the evinrude etec motor oil. Which run anywhere from 130 to 170f. So it should be good for a ski

I think a better question would be, when is the last time you heard of an oil related engine failure? This is why guys run the cheap stuff in expensive engines with no issues.
Sure, you can run expensive oil if that is what you want but in reality the cheap stuff is going to work fine too for 99.9% of the skis on this site.

For 30 years I have run Klotz Skicraft in my standups, Seadoo Mineral oil for break-in and Seadoo XPS in my seadoo's without a single engine failure. It is what I like and do but doesn't mean I couldn't have been using less expensive oil with the same results.

Yeah that’s true. I’m going with the hp marine. I’m a big Amsoil guy lol
