I know that for the Round Nose Superjet you can buy a 3d model to print of the steering nozzle that is angled so it is easier to backflip in small surf. Riski Riders were the ones that made it.

Im making one for my 650sx since im already doing a hull resto and rebuild on my ski over the winter. Would anyone be interested in getting their hands on the final product if I can get it to work?

Does anything like this exist already? It would just mean taking your ride plate off and swapping the nozzle on a beack cart or the trailer before you head out on the water.

Does the 650 steering nozzle fit the x2 aswell? Curious if any x2 guys could get a use out of it too.

Some up trim is great when you need it but its bad for the other 99% of the time you ride. X2s have a trim gimbal that is not designed to use on the fly. X2s are effectively longer hulls and can run with up trim without too much porposing unless the rider is very large. There were aftermarket 84mm nozzles that had four mounts for both 650sx and x2 use. Its cheap and easy to adapt a ZXI gimbal and steer nozzle for active trim.

Ill admit im not keen on chopping up the back of my hull. Would I have to cut the tray forward and drill holes for the trim cable?
No you would have to drill a hole through the hull , install a tube to run the cable through, then seal it all back up. On a 650SX you could utilize the pipe drain tube and snake it through there quite easily. You would need to run the cable up through the handlepole to throttle of MTN bike lever to actuate it though.

True I forgot about that tube om the starbord stern side. Is that zxi steer nozzle a 1-1 fit with a 650sx pump?

Yes the trim will bolt right up the exit nozzle size is different diameter , its a smaller diameter which increases top end but sacrifices bottom end to get there.

Pretty sure the 650SX nozzle exit diamter is one of the largest ones on that styl pump.

Sweet, Are they steel nozzles I might try to get it bored out to the same size. I need as much bottom end as i can get to have that tiny motor pop a rickter in decent surf at that lol

How will tne nozzle go back to level after I let go of the trigger? Will gravity lower it? Or does the pump pressure keep it straight out. I would probably buy the nozzle and then get the trirm cable for the 750 aswell and route that to the cable

The pump pressure pulls it back staight, to engage the trim you have to let off the gas for a second, pull the lever then get back on the gas.

You want the alunmunum version, the plastic version found on X2's does not have nearly as much up trim as the aluminum one does.

SX does not have trim, if you are referring to the X2 nop it doesn't no idea about the nozzle hitting or not we always cut the back part off of our X2's

It's kinda hard to measue but total travel on that X2 nozzle looks to be about 2.5 inches, the aluminum one I have is closer to 5 inches total travel, that is not to say you will ever get that kind of travel out of a cable pull mechanism though.

Im thinking im safe to go with a 1/16 and that will be plenty strong enough. I was going to use a second steering cable to replace that cooling line but i like running a cable through it more.

For anyone reading the thread, 1/16 fits with room to spare on my ski. 1/8th might fit, but it could impede trigger pull if its too snug

650sx nozzle is shorter overall since there is no trim ring. JRE chris in Canada used to make a rip turn spacer so you could use any 650 or 750 nozzle on the x2. Erick Burton an old ro x2 racer used to just put a cable and lever on his to make a drop nozzle setup. Very simple to make any trim system. I used to make and sell them on ebay ages ago. You can buy bulk cable housing on eBay and cable. Up trim in surf is great for keeping the nose up so it don't nose dive getting hit from behind. The correct Bicycle brake lever pulls the cable about an inch. Lousy levers only pull about half inch. I know everything there is to know about making nozzle setups
