Freestyle Another piston wash thread...

Ok so I'm pretty sure my engine is about perfectly set up. I still have a tiny lean hesitation on the bottom with the 122.5 pilots, 127.5 was too rich and I couldn't get it right. I didn't have 125s to try at the time. So now I think I have my answer there. Top end feels amazing. I'm trying to make sense of this piston wash. When I pull the head off I see the carbon pattern on the piston but the edges where it should be clean are covered in a thin layer of brown oily residue. I wiped the pistons with wd40 and the second pic looks like its perfect. I do still have very dark spark plugs... Like a Hershey bar color.. Not the lighter brown color I'm after. So I'm baffled... Take a look and let me know what you think. I will say I'm really happy with how it feels! But I'm the kind of guy that won't sleep at night knowing there is 2 more hp to be found in my engine with a little more tuning.

Sorry the plug pic is hard to take close enough and get right, but you can see its dark.

The mark on the piston is from my video scope when I was trying to look inside before I pulled the head. I should add this is a 10mm DASA 970 with full spec 48s

How many gallons have you put through ? Mine still look shiny dose that mean I'm way to rich ? Or I haven't put enough fuel through it yet.

I got it with 20 hours on it. I ran about 5 gallons. I took the opportunity to clean the carbon off completely. I'm gonna start fresh and see what mine really looks like after 15-20 gallons.
