Really, I foamed my ski in 2007, it is not waterlogged yet. When I got it, I refoamed it, I wasted my time. Wamilton had prepped the hull in January 2001. Everything was still dry in 2007. They get waterlogged when the hull is not sealed up properly. I have had my fair share of not sealed up properly hulls. It can be done.

It has been in the water enough for that to happen.

Low Blow.

5200 every penetration of the bulkhead, and pump area. Glass over the inspections holes that come with the tape on them (when new). There are 5000 different opinions on footholds. Last set I did I install them using a urethane adheasive to help bond and seal them, then I glassed them in also. I use to use the SMC panel fuser like Chris Maro's said to use, but I had several where the holds pulled loose, leaked etc etc. Did a few that we had to cut out. Tried using West Systems with 404/405 mixed in to make an adheasive, 5200 ( would not set up ). Wamilton did my hull originally and I think all he used was glass and resin. I had to cut them out of the hull.

Talking about soaked foam... I bought a 750sx to cut the pump tunnel out of, I just figured the hull weighed a ton, But I bet I pulled every bit of 30lbs of soaked foam out of it, and it had been sitting in my storage building dry for a year. I will never ever use foam like that again. Styro for me from now on. I built a cool hot wire foam cutter to shape all my foam. Might be something you want to look at.

I'll snap one for ya tomorrow. I built a long one for cutting big peices and a small one for shaping but a hot knife still comes in very handy, but if you dont have one just use a nice sharp knife and heat it with a propane torch or other means.
Go to youtube and type in {foam hot wire} and you will get the idea, there is alot of videos showing you how to do it and its very easy to do, basicly just need a peice of wood, some safety wire or other, and a battery charger, gives a very nice clean cut. cuts through it like butter.
