Super Jet another timing question

Im trying to milk every ounce of power out of this set up so any suggestions other than my timing question would be cool, its a 95 701, single 44, boyesen reeds, riva dry pipe, tdr water box, westcoast head(180psi), msd enhancer, 9/15 hooker. my question is, is it SAFE to advance timing 3 degrees over stock with my setup, from my readings it sure sounds okay but it dont want blow this thing up, also 91octane is the highest sold in ft collins, elevation is 5000ft and i run my mix at 40:1. I would say my riding style leans more twards racing, high speed carving cause when i try any freestyle im sure it looks real stupid, thanks

I would keep the initial base timing set at the stock spec with a single carb and a dry pipe. You may want to consider changing your MSD enhancer because it only has a 3-degree retard rate after full advance and programmable CDI box would be more beneficial to your application.

do u think that 180psi comp is running to close to the raged edge of explode with 91 pump gas, i was told that 195 or so on pump gas was the limit, i try to buy my fuel from the same place but i guess u never know how good that blend may be on that day

my pipe temps are way to cold i know that, i can hold my hand on my pipe after a ride with water just sittn on the coupler, my pipe has an alenhead set screw next to the bottom inlet(not part of it), is that for water tuning cause i have no clue?

so i turnd up my timing about 3 degrees, changed out my fuel filter cause the one i had was the original one from 95, went to a 50/50 mix with race gas, no performance gain but just to be safe. this boat gets up and moves now and it smells fantastic, it think mabe the old filter was just clogged a bit. anyone out there know any tricks to make a dry pipe adjustable with out spending a grip cause she is ice cold?

I wouldn't put a filter in, sand wont hurt anything, the filter would probably plug up you wouldn't check it and pop goes your motor... I depends on the water temp your running, I typically run in colder water so I had 11/32 restrictors in my 771 I think sold the ski and don't have the paper work so i cant check for you sorry, Ive only got experience with b-pipe but in theory you want the pipe hot hot hot, Heat=Power as far as the pipe goes, It is possible to over cool and under cool your set-up, to much cooling going on and your sleeves won't expand with the pistons and not enough cooling you fry your motor, Not sure how your cooling lines are currently but make sure the lines run to your motor first to pre-heat the water going into the pipe, if your running dual cooling one for the motor one for the pump just restrict the pipe line, start with a larger restrictor and get smaller until your pipe gets nice and hot

thanks, i have one line in, tee to twin inlet on mani, top rear cyl straight out, top front cyl to pipe. should i add a tee to let some water out since im retricting flow so front cyl doesnt over heat?

Add a tee to your front cyl, branch runs to the pipe and straight thru to pisser (overboard) again my experience is with B-pipes you might want to double check, but that will reduce the amount of water your firing into the pipe, if your still to cold you can add restrictors off the tee, with your current set-up if you thru restrictor in there you would be restricting the cooling to your motor as well...if i understand you correctly

yup yup, sounds like we are the same page, im just gonna dump a little water over board to help keep front cyl from getting to hot, thanks for the input

ya, so you will need a 2nd pisser dont tee them together to use one, actually come to think of it I seem to think dry pipes have 3 pissers....
