Pete where do you hook up a tow rope then? I bought some ZXi tow hooks off of eBay and plan to use them somewhere on my X2 if I ever do a build on it.
Yes, but will have to re-glass to seal up the foam, I wanted to cut it so I can just still use the rear rideplate mounting inserts.
I have been snapping my hook to the hole in the ride plate!

So what is the maximum safe amount to cut off an X2 hull without reglassing?

Just before it goes up the ramped area, perhaps leave a good 1/4 -1/2 inch. D cut plate really helps.

I have had an idea on a hood mod....
Make it so it opens to one side. No one out there has a side pivoting/opening hood!

and why your at it mid as well add one of those import exhaust systems from pep boys..and an air bag under the seat....tilt the trailer and some lambo doors to your tow vehicle.......

You can get away with cutting most of the lip of the back with out leaking. If it delaminates put some resin or 5200 in the crack before it soaks the foam.
I am tying to figure out how to deal with the back inserts for the rideplate. They are going to be really close to the back if I cut it back as much as I want.

Why not
Pete, I can post up a pic of the inside of a hull. All the Kawie hulls have a places made into the fiberglass the hold a nut. Then they are covered in epoxy. It will be hard to mode an insert if you ask me. Maybe a hull repair insert will work.

I read somewhere that some strut lifts for a trunk could be used for the hood....any info?
