Thanks Dave! I am going to think about this one or just not cut that much off.

The strut can be used to hold the hood up but it si still in your way. My friend had one on his X2 when he first got it and we got annoyed wit it fast.

I am not too sure but maybe one of these or a 650 SX plate would work. I know a 650 SX has 6 total bolts. I used to have a 91 650 SX. It would still be hard to make the bolt but you could use a set of those threaded inserts epoxied in place. Just a thought.

I've been riding with my pump set back 2" and 1.75" cut off the back. Not sure if the pump setback mod is the best. For some strange reason it seems to push the front end down when turning a quick corner. Not so good when you want the front end light when coming back to hit a setup wake.
Are we out of ideas...do we have to move into the light weight hull catagory?

i believe that the set back idea is turning out to be better for the racers not freeriders

How about making the seat area removeable. Try cutting off the entire seat in one clean piece. Rebuild the tray as one solid deck with 25mm padding. Epoxy down a bunch of bolts that would rest below the padding ao you wouldn't feel them when standing. Custom make your seat (the fiberglass part) to bolt down to it. Bolt down your seat and ride it like an X-2, or unbolt your seat and ride it with surf straps like a conversion ski.

It'd be an X3. Show Seadoo what real men ride.

Anyone tried this? Thoughts? My main concern would be structual integrity without the support of the seat.

I have 5 hulls. I thought about trying this IF I like my X2. Have to get it running 1st.

When ever I ride my X2 now with the trim in down 1 or 2 it will burry he nose. I usually ride with it in neutral or up.

Someone once tried ot make a flat X2 but the pump & shoe go up into seat cavity. You can't chop out as much as you think you coul...

Well I finally made it to the X...for some crazy reason my user name and pass word were all goofed up....it took me all summer....I cut the back off my x2 just to try it...it made it crazy loose in the rear...fun for just goofing around but I think it will be hard to race it....unless I get a better scoop grate...It jumps out of the water nicely...rear exhaust has made my life a little nicer that west coast waterbox is still plenty loud...in two days my x2 will meet the chopsaw...new hull currently in garage...old hull is water logged...

I love my short hull with tubbies on a bouy course as long as I get to make the course REALLY tight. As long as you ride it really hard it won't spin out. It doesn't go straight long but I hate holding the motor wide open with its current state of tune.

I even use my up trim in the middle of the turn so I can lay it way over. It acts like a turning nozzle when the hull is beyond 45 degrees of lean. I try to drag the bars in most turns if I have the energy.


However I use 5X as much energy as anyone on a Blaster. It is way more fun for me to ride that way though.

I really like the short hull it really makes the x2 fun...I don't have any high speed issues...with the tubbies and all the stuff I have it goes good...maybe the waterlogged hull is to blame for the stablity...I knew it was bad when it lays over on the left side when i get off in deep water...I actully have to hold it upright...

Has anyone done a Hydro Turf seat cover? Not the vinyl stock replacement cover but using the tray pad material everyone uses on their bond line, gun whales, and trays. I have a spare seat and have been debating on doing this to. Then again I was thinking of sending it out and getting either 2 or 4 inches of rise added to it. Who does this anymore? I think Jet trim does. I know Crammit cover his old X2 seat in HT I may have to ask him for pointers.

i was cosidering the same thing but have thoubht it out that if the stock seat rubbs the inside of my leg raw would it be any worse w/ turf or taller seat?

the vinyl sides on the ht could help this problem

The HT stock replacement vinyl seats are all vinyl. I had one on my old X2. It was just your typical replacement seat cover. I liked the look but it did fade some. Then again most HT mats I have installed have faded.
