Blaster Any one guru on Blaster fp dry pipes?

Got all three fp for a blaster building a ss pv dasa was thinking of using the dry pipe to get some good power was hoping it might be the closest to a pfp due to it being a dry pipe thoughts ? any one try this or have a similar set up ?

I never personally experienced them but a buddy of mine told me he called them to buy one new when they were at the end of being available and they flat out told him not to buy it. Gain wasn't worth the hassle to install and reliability compromised.

It doesn't matter the ski. Blaster, SJ, SXR, whatever, drypipes make more power but are a PITA to install and compromise reliability.

I had a Riva dry pipe in my SJ and loved it. Made a ton of power, zero reliability issues, and sounded awesome. I lived on a lake and rode almost every weekend, yet didn't take the pipe out in the 3 years i had the ski. No clogging, no cracked brackets, and with the JSS mod, never busted a coupler.

It is big and heavy though.

My SJ has a dry pipe. Previous owner had it for years with no issues. Same friend had a dry on a SXR and all kinds of issues. They are all different I guess. I just know FP themselves recommended him stay away from it for the Blaster.

I agree that people have had vastly different experiences. What I think helps is being very critical on the installation.

Removing the flange on the manifold really helps the coupler life dramatically. And when using a 3/4 " wide t-clamp and a thin coat of gasket sealer, I never had it come off.

Next is ensuring that the pipe is properly positioned in the ski. If you have to push on the pipe to align the lord mounts and bolt them down, then for sure you will eventually rip a mount or crack the flange.

Lastly, run a water filter. I didn't, but I rode in a very clean lake. With a jet in the stinger, one piece of sand could block it.

if your building a PV Dasa motor.....find a Speedwerks dry pipe. I've personally never owned a FPP dry, but have heard from many in the know, its not that impressive.
