Other Any plans for the 2013 Spring Break Pismo Ride?

Whats everyones plan for showing up and leaving? Are some of you guys going to there Friday afternoon or mostly showing up Friday evening/Saturday?​

My brother and I plan on joining and we can't wait. We both are pretty new to the surf but have been riding skis for a few years; we will be showing up Saturday morning and probably staying till Sunday. Being the first time to the PISMO FreeRide do you guys have any recommendations on what to bring? How do you flush out the ski at the end of the day?

Bring a wetsuit and helmet along with your life jacket. There will be plenty of totes you can borrow if you dont have one. As for flushing there is a car wash half mile from the Grand Ave entrance that has a hose connection. Or do what I do and use a hose and funnel and flush on the beach (gravity feed status jusy bring fresh water).

Great stuff! How many people are expected to be on the water each day based on the last few years?

There's usually a hundred or two that show up for the event. Obviously not everyone rides so there's usually a dozen or two or three out in the water. It's a good time.

hopefully everyone gets wasted and sleeps in until 10-11 like always so i can get two tanks in before people wake up

i start to ride 7;30 ish im fat and out of shape so i do quite a few small rides throught the day. but i try to catch that morning swell!!!!!

Is it normal for sit downs to ride at Pismo? I've ridden there about 10 times and have never seen one. In the faceboook post for this event someone is asking whether they need a wetsuit (noob alert) and they'll be on a sitdown. I would really hate to see Pismo get shut down like I've seen other places get shut down because the couches showed up in number and some of them didn't know how to behave.

How would you even launch a couch there? Risk getting stuck with a trailer? Is that even legal?

I tried to politely say this isn't a good idea on facebook. I wouldn't do it with my family's couch.
