Any real evidence race gas makes more power then AV gas

With the AV and race gas question, you have the ability make more power off race gas because of higher octane levels (110 leaded) because of the ability to give your motor more compression. Aviation fuel is 100 octane and its unleaded which limits your compression to around 200psi id say.

Av gas in actually low lead (100LL) not unleaded and is not rated the same as race gas. I have run as much as 230 lbs compression with a lot of timing on a SS SJ with no problems. You will get some gains with race gas over AV gas, but I run AV most of the time because of its lower price and its pretty easy for be to obtain.

Has anyone played with U-2?

I know when I raced Mini Moto..... I could feel a power difference in running U-4 or c12 over 93 octane..... but thats 4stroke...

I am gona do some testing with U-2, but its like $13 a gallon

av gas is lighter so small planes with low power can get off the ground a cesna only has about 60 horsepower! but to lighten the fuel they have changed its moleculer structure by removing the heavy end of the molecules wich actullay lowers the BTU kinda like the difference between diesel and unleaded. that means av gas has less energy per gallon than regular fuel not to mention that race gas is formulated to make power and not worried about emission levels.
