Anybody (else) use shin guards?

Idok...
None were using the thick stuff. But of the 4, three were with shoes on. JFB was barefoot. There are a couple of others I have heard about the past two years as well, and I think all had some kind of shoes on...presumably with more padding that just a wrestling shoe.

We all know what the risks are, and I guess you do what you can to mitigate those risks as much as possible...

I dont think I could EVER ride barefoot, in fact I have to fab up arch supports for my asics...(flat feet SUCK!)

from now on though its 24mm underpadding....that stuff is the shizNIT!

dual straps 24mm under padding and bare feet is absolute heaven..feels like your wearing slippers:tongue2:

And since you brought up the ankel issue, I have had far fewer ankle injuries since I started doing rolls and flips with a front strap instead of in the holds. I only use the holds now for really small rolls or doubles where you are trying to rotate as fast as possible.

I wont bother going out to the surf without laceup ankle braces.... It sucked only being able to ride for two moto's last year at Daytona freeride Sunday morning before blowing out my ankle....

It was all good untill my chick at the time was telling me how the guys next to us were freeking out over the air I was launching "stabs+ roles"... the guys were Bogart, and Rob Pillis +others... of course I went back out there, throwing down as hard as possible being one of the few boats in the water.... then I drug myself in with a fractured to hell ankle from a big stab, it happened from the hull flatinng out before water impact. :banghead:... three months later I was back at it. :sly:

one bad shoe for sure is NIKE shox...DO not even try ...they are danger to ur ankle .
