A few weeks ago I scored myself a 2013 yz 250 with one ride on it. The plan is to make it a super moto for summer and ride it as a dirtbike for winter.
Does anybody else on here have a supermoto bike? Do you like it?
I should have plates for my bike in a week or two. I'm hoping it's as fun as I think it will be.

How she looks now.

That's the original front tire.

This is my buddy's yz. I'm hoping mine turns out similar.

Wow. That is a pretty neat bike. I wonder how a 2-stroke handles on the road... I am planning on picking up a nice dual sport for commuting and dirt roads, but having grown up on two-stroke bikes, I would wonder how that would be in a city/road atmosphere.

Cool idea though!

I had a KTM smr450 supermoto bike for several years. Absolutely loved it. Sold it last year and I shouldn't have. I'm not sure a yz250 on the street is the best or easiest thing to ride around on (from a ride ability standpoint) but it would be cool nonetheless.

Supermoto bikes are way cooler than crotch rockets IMO

I'm not too concerned about mixing gas or reliability of a 2 stroke. I don't plan to ride it super far and it won't be a daily driver.
I'm more interested in carving turns and finding obstacles on the weekends.

The cop magnet aspect of it worries me a bit. I guess it all comes down to how you're riding it and how you handle the cop when you get stopped.

I'm thinking the 2 stroke will be fun on the street. The powerband might make things interesting. I can imagine it will turn some heads.

Maybe I'll burn some castor 927 so it smells good for everybody. Haha

I rode with a guy in athens that bought a ktm 450 last year. That thing would Fly! I don't know what gearing he had but it would cruise at 85 easy.

I have a kx 250 street legal SM and love it. Fun to mess around on but obviously not great for long trips. My buddy has a cr 500 converted aluminum 450 frame that is insane and a blast.

Only have one picture of mine

I started on a drz and then went crazy. They are awesome. The ultimate hooligan vehicle. 11990475_10102087960811763_8905124907154109470_n.jpg

Picked up a race bike from superbike unlimited. Wr450, built motor, full ohlins, 6 piston caliper, slipper clutch, etc.

I didn't realize supermoto had such a strong following. Some of the bikes posted on here are sweet.

I can't imagine a cr500 on the street. That thing must be insane.

Do any of you guys go to the track on your bikes? I can imagine they are a blast on a nice race course.

That bike is bad ass. I saw that on supermoto junkie. Great deal too!

Yea, it was too perfect. I messaged them a couple months prior and they didn't want to sell. I just happened to sell my drz and was on the hunt and they messaged me.

Its mean. This was pretty much my first time riding it and on slicks.

Maintenance wise I would prefer the DRZ or WR for street use.
The new Husqvarna 701 would be nice though!
