Anyone bust their surf cherry last weekend?

Anyone get to ride in the salt for their very first time at Daytona? If so, what did ya think? howd ya like it?

Yes I did and I loved it besides my dad flooding my engine with salt water!!!

My arms and shoulders are so sore I drove most of the way home with my knees. I had a great time. Saturday beat me up. I think I was way anxious and tense after months of buildup to my first ocean ride. Sunday was much better. Thanks to everyone who loaned this inland dweller a beach cart and help loading and unloading.

It was awesome! barges on the river are not my favorite riding any more. Besides having bildge troubles every day (now i am going to install two new bildges and a good switch), it was a complete blast. I was on an orange and black X2 (same one in the picture of my buddy in the american flag mankini lol). And i want to give a special thanks to the guy that pulled me in on his yellow x2. I was so exhausted there was no way i could have dragged my ski in by swimming. I will be back next year.

not only did I ride in the surf ride for the first time but I learned a new trick, my better half called it the rag doll.

It was my first time riding surf and I learned two things, Im really out of shape and my stock rn pole is way too long for surf!

I did and found out I suck at it...for now. My first ride was not bad. I watched a few guys ride and then I went out. Nothing dramatic, just sort of cruising and getting a feel for the breakers. I came in and planned on doing one of those "cool beachings" that everyone else seemed to be doing where you come in kinda fast and glide to a stop. Well I came in a little "hot." I was gliding in nice and smooth and thought "this is easy" until my ski came to an abrupt stop and I went kartwheeling over the bars...landing flat on my back in front of a good sized crowd of Michigan boys. They gave me a nice golf clap:arms: and said I rated a 10. The cold sucked real bad for me, but I'll be back. The peeps were great to meet and the surf was fun. It'll be even better when I come back when it's warm.

it was my second time but still hard to ride the surf ..will try to post picks...at a attemped back flip ..hull cracked .. and yeah it was a 440 with mods ..not a high dollar ski ..it was 800 bucks when i got done with it now 1 buck if u know what i meen

I have a non-cracked version of a 440 hull sitting at my house. Free to a 1st time surf rider who attempted to back flip a 440. Although, I think your next ski should be one with a much wider tray to accommodate your balls.

This was my first time in the ocean, the waves definately were better than anything ive seen on lake michigan; especially on sunday. It was also cool meeting all these people from this site. Thanks to everyone for making it a great experience!

Got mine, but I didn't ride it out perfectly. Still had a blast though.
