Other Anyone else hate dragging their ski up on an aluminum beach stand?

NEVER....EVER TURF YOUR BEACH STAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought a big AC stand off a member a while ago, good price, can't complain. But the rails were already turfed.

There is nothing worse than trying to get a ski on/off a turfed stand. It just sticks like sand paper on sand paper. Doesn't scratch up the hull, but man... after a racing a moto and trying to shove my HX back on the stand is just more work than I would like to do given the situation. Same with riding surf for a tank of gas and then trying to use your last little bit of strength to get the ski back on the stand.

Friends don't let friends turf beach stands.

Got to use it this weekend and I couldn't be happier. The plastic is soft enough to protect the hull but not so slippery that the ski would slide off. I still had to drag the ski off to get it back in the water.

I have 10 sets made up and will be bringing them down south the next time we ride and handing them out to anyone who already has a big tube stand. Idok, Stan, Tanner...who else bought one?

Just packaged up a stand for Adam but there wasn't enough room for your covers too so you will have to come down and pick them up in person. :biggrin:

I handed out 5 sets last weekend so there should be some more feedback posted soon....or bitching cause they are a PITA to put on, lol. I can do a set in a couple minutes with a special tool but they could take awhile and cost some skin without it. :bigok:
