Other Anyone ever had a problem with Paypal and Craigslist?

I know there are a lot of scams on craigslist. I have someone interested in my motor from craigslist. They said they can local pick up in 2 weeks (about 2 hours drive away) or they can paypal the money and ship. I'm pretty comfortable with paypal. I prefer to only ship to PWCToday and X-h2o frequent posters. He says he's on PWCtoday...

Anyone see or know any issues with paypal and craigslist?

Shouldn't be an issue if they pay through Paypal. Make sure you use a tracking number and insure the package in case they file a claim against you.

Have them Paypal the money as a gift... problem solved.

You really have to watch out for scammers from Craigslist . I get random texts from ads that i place on there all the time. You can tell that they haven't read your ad and are not interested in your items.

There's too many scams out there. Only deal with Cash!

I've done it for small dollar amount transactions. But for an engine I might be careful. As long as your not an idiot you can usually pick out the scammers, though some people know how to really do it.

I'd just meet the guy half way, or have him drive. 2 hours isn't far at all. Whats the $$$ amount of the engine?

I have posted a few ads this week myself on CL, and within one day I will get a email asking if I still have the item, the second email is usualy asking for a paypal, address, name....etc. Scam, for sure. I have googled the name and it always came up as a CL scam. Have them call you and see what happens....

As long as they are a real person, And like communicate like one, and not asking for all your information etc, I see no issue giving them your paypal email address... and have them send money, just don't send them anything..

If they can CALL you on a phone, then your good to go, accept the payment .

I have a special email account just for CL as well.

when i get a scammer they usually say that they are interested in your item, then the next email usually says that they will give you your full asking price plus extra to ship to their son across seas
just be careful

Me and everybody else I know locally have had great success with paypal and craigslist.

When I post on CL I just add WFO's home phone # and never use my own.
