I've heard a lot lately about people plastidipping their wheels, even their whole cars and it appears to hold up REALLY well and also really easy to repair.

Anyone ever tried it with their ski? I'm not sure it would adhere to the existing paint with it constantly being bombarded with water. I would think it might peel off. But if it doesn't peel off, what a wonderful idea. Anyone have a ski with a bad paint job they are willing to try? I guess they are using the spray plastidip. I didn't even know that it existed, I've only seen the "dip" kind.

I agree, on the bottom of the ski it would last about 2 seconds, especially if you ever pull it up on a beach. I'm wondering about the topside/handpole which rarely experiences extended periods of time underwater. Even if you did sub it, I don't know. I guess there is only one way to find out :) I might consider trying the front cover on my SJ for a trial.

I have a can and have been contemplating spraying the engine bay with it. Should be gas resistant. Someone needs to test it and report back. I'd rather that person not be me.

I did the chrome badges on my truck with black plasti-dip spray can and it came out good. I wouldn't even bother putting it anywhere on a ski though. I'm too rough with my stuff. I don't think it would hold up for me.

Well if you try it and don't like it, it's very easy to peel off. I just peeled it off my wheels today in about 2hrs. Make sure to put multiple coats on to make it easier to peel off.

A few of the guys here did it and said it started to peel off the nose first, that was on a stand up though. It cost $30 dollars a can here so not a cheap option , better off painting it properly.
