anyone know the inside diameter of coolant lines

what is the ID of the stock coolant lines. i replaced my lines a while back with 1/2 inch to get more water for my dry pipe and i want to go back to stock diameter. i know the OD is 3/8 but i would like to know the ID so i can order some stainless tubing.

Water line is 3/8 ID. If you were running 1/2 then presumably you changed all the water fittings too, so don't forget to change them back to 3/8.

Hose is called by its inside diameter, tubing is measured on the outside. 3/8 hose fits over 3/8 tubing. Pipe is measured on the inside, however those sizes are nominal.

exactly. but you have differend wall thicknesses which probably wont make a huge differance but i just dont want to be to thin. i guess im just being that "overly anal machinist guy" but if someone has calipers and can take a quick measurement that would be great.

The 2-stroke engines vibrate a lot and the stainless braided line will rub through whatever it comes in contact with. Also it corrodes it saltwater and will turn darker in color. I'd just use some good quality 3/8" ID pressure washer or airline hose IMO.

I believe he is talking about the through hull water lines.

That would make more sense but it still doesn't describe the type of hose being used.

I used seamless 316 stainless steel tubing that was .375" diameter with a .028" wall thickness for the trim tube and through hull water lines.

here is what is used, worked gret cause the OD was not so large, from amazon was a special and like $ 11 at that time, they also have different lenghts

Stainless Steel 316L Welded Annealed Tubing 3/8" OD x .305" ID x .035" Wall 36" Length

I use 3/8 ID braided clear water line from Lowe's/HomeDepot. They call it dishwasher line, approx 1.00 per foot and 12' will do a entire ski with ease.
