650/X-2 anyone mod their stock pipe?

Saw this thread over on pwctoday, just wondering if anyone over here has tried it? What kind of carb changes are necessary, if any?

i have this on my Superjet, plus a section added to the stinger end, makes allot better power then stock

Glad you posted this, I'm stumbled across this mod earlier today. My buddy is looking for an aftermarket pipe setup for his 650 SN. But I told him to look into doing this...way cheaper.

It costed me 95 for the coffman manifold [ figured i could use it if i ever go b-pipe in the future] i had one pipe, and 20 bucks for the other pipe that i cut the section to add to the stinger [ my engines a 701 also ]

changed to the wet jet carb at the same time, but its a big difference over the stock pipe for sure.

Havent had it on a kawi 650 though

Did you have to rejet or is it plug and play? Also, did you retain the stock pipe drain or weld it?

I didn't have to change jetting when I ran it, pulled a little better then stock but not super noticeable IMO. I put a WC pipe on my X2 and noticed a lot more difference.

Lengthening the chamber body results in a lower horsepower and rpm but raises the peak torque slightly.

The stinger tip diameter controls the pipe pressure and if it's too small you may melt the pistons or too big you can lose power.

thanks for the info. I'm going to leave it stock length, just make it run drier.
