Did you try this yet?
It ran ok today, no misfire now. However my compression is down from last season and I may throw the fresh topend on there. 153/158 62T cylinder 701 with 35cc domes.

I don't think there's anything wrong with those numbers.

Retest your compression with a fully charged batter, known good starter (IMPORTANT!), throttle wide open, and a plug in the other hole.

Did all that and a new Liesle guage from Napa. Just no bottom end now. I did have a problem today with no start, turns out the negative cable was not working properly, made a jumper to the cases with some #12 wire and it ran fine the rest of the day.

Crab i had the same issue in Pismo with no bottom end and it turned out to be a leaking oring on the front piston. Is your plug wet with water when it is missing?

They seem to look fine, no evidence of water or steam from what I can see. I'm going to pull the carbs and check them first, then the head if needed. I did use 1211 when it went on.

Mine didn't steam and if you checked the plugs after running for a while it was dry. But if you check with out getting into the RPMs to heat the plugs up it was wet.

On a side note my engine wont be done for this weekend the pistons are on back order.

Crab, I just ohm'ed out 2 new BR8ES's. Using a Fluke meter I got 4.96 Kilo- Ohms (4,960) and 5.01 K-Ohms on the second. They are solid tops. Something dont jive with your readings. Try a different meter.
You might want to wring out your coil as well, especially your secondary.
