Super Jet Anyone use smooth turf

Just wondering if anyone uses Smooth turf on the gunwells. My thinking is it will be easer on the ankles. If im not mistaken RRP uses smooth on the gunwells and diamond in the tray. Any downside ?

yeah I,ve used it on the bond rails (around the outside) and it worked well but a couple of things to lookout for it is the same thickness as molded diamond turf but with no cuts or pattern it is a bit harder to bend/form than regular turf which isn't that big of a drama just put a bit more thought into how your going to get it into the foothold area.

oh ya :) its nice. diamond is too mean on the leg hairs haha really smooth is fine on the tray even if you run lots of underpadding .

Kevin I use smooth turf on the gunwells of my SXR. I usually only ride my SXR in summer on flatwater so I'm not wearing a wetsuit, and the smooth is much better on the ankles.

I have used it on a few skis now. I love it. Ill find you some pics of my ski. Smooth on everything but the bottom but carter is right. It has enough grip for the tray as well as long as there is padding under.

I do a lot of turf jobs and have been waiting for someone to request it. I am yet to see it on a ski so if anyone has any pics of smooth turf installed please post.

Nobody taking the diamond cut is better side? Wtf? What a bunch of wussies. Diamonds are always better. Gold diamond would be awesome. Who needs leg hair?

Thanks for the input guys.. I ordered my turf kids a few days ago.

Any tricks necessary to work the smooth stuff ?

I wont say I am an expert, but goes on just like diamond, but as it has been stated, it is thicker throughout. Works really nice when turfing rails too.

I really like the smooth stuff... :headbang:

Use a heat gun to stretch and shape the turf into place. Once you're done, go over the whole section with the heat gun to smooth the surface, and get rid of fingerprint impressions. ( I get it so hot that my fingerprints get molded into the turf.)
