Im installing my new xmetal trim system tonight, had to grind the ring around the reduction nozzle no big deal but the bottom bolt around my trim ring hits my ride plate cureuous how people think I should cut my plate down

I have the long plate as it comes from tiger craft I've left it long cause I'm a big guy (270lbs) I feel like it gives me the stablitly to mount and recover I'm not sure, wondering if I should leave it long and just do a D cut around where the bolts gonna hit? Like a 2in hole? Or do you guys think I shoild cut the plate shorter and learn to adapt , if so how shoild I cut it?

I ride both flat and surf

If you can draw in the picture of the backside of the ride plate how you think I should cut it down. Thank you

You could D cut it like you said, or just put a narrow notch in the rideplate for the bolt head to fit. Not sure how much clearance you'll have when the bolt is bottomed out but maybe a cap head Allen bolt will help for clearance? Could possibly shim the rideplate down slightly as well
