I have one along with an 1100 gph auto bilge that will kick on unless my ski is upside down. Makes it pretty unsinkable....but in bigger surf I still plug the scupper from the inside. ($2.00 plumbing plug) Best of both worlds.

If you are doing a lot of stabs and diving your ski under water, it is worth having. btw...don't do pump dump, they don't sit low enough and leak (not enough back pressure).

Never been a fan of scuppers. Never had one either. Never heard too many good things about em.
Always used dual 500 gph bilges w/thumb switch on the bars. Always had good luck.

I do need to remember to turn it on when on waves so if I loose my ski bilges will be on. Last trip to pismo lost my ski in the surf upside down and ended my trip short.

Nice thing about a scupper is they are cheap and you can cork them if you dont like them. Or cork em for surf and run them in flat water. Put one in regardless and you have a CHOICE, dont instal one and you wonder?????

I turn on my bilge pumps before I even hit the start switch, then I turn it off when I get back to shore. That way it's always on when I need it.

Btw I do have a one way. If your not doing any aerials and never lose your boat they work great. but for people like me still in their learning curve prob not a great idea...

lol i prob sink more than every person in this thread combined..ive been pinned on the bottom 10ft deep before with my ski from getting slammed so hard....whats going to sink your ski faster? ghost riding your ski out the back of the wave on a circus flip attempt or losing your ski doing a reentry on a 10ft wave where your ski is taking the full impact of the lip on its hood....once again refer to post #4...

These threads are entertainment and little else. At the end of the day not one single person will have changed their mind. Turn on your bilges, double check that your scupper is working and let's ride.:arms:
