Are Vforce 2's generally reliable? (broken petal)

I'm 99% sure I broke a reed after about 2 hours on my 5mm 760/809 HPE setup. There is some fiberglass fray and black stuff in the intake, along with running like poop. I had my b pipe flowing way too much water and I revved it out. It took a bit for the pipe to warm up but once it did I was FLYING. I think the reeds couldn't take it. Anyone have trouble with these? I'm going to pull them off in a bit and get pics.

Got them out, the reeds look perfect! Not sure what is causing my engine to bog or what black stuff I sucked up. The other possibilities are a problem with my ignition, or a low battery as I am using a total loss setup. Clogged fuel filter. Maybe a blown head gasket? I'm thinking about pulling the head off, it did seem to get progressively worse.

I went all through the carbs. I found my lines leaking a bit so I double zip tied them. Everything else looked fine. I charged up the battery really well. Hopefully that fixes the issue. If not then I'll have to pull my head next. It seems to run fine out of the water for a few seconds at least.

Ive had the "black stuff" in my intake and reeds before which made an SJ i had run like crap. In my case I found it was paint peeling and flaking off the oem flame arrestor mount. Not saying thats your issue or if you even have stock f/a but figured its worth mentioning.
