Okay, I know I am beating a dead horse with this thread....

Mods, feel free to lock it if you want, I'll understand.

Just rehashing the fact that people think their beat up B-Pipes are worth so much. Just in the last two days I have seen B-Pipes here and on PWCtoday for an average price of $600, usually pieced together, NOT ceramic coated, with FROZEN screws, MISSING hardware etc. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!

WHO ARE THE IDIOTS THAT KEEP PAYING THESE PRICES?! ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME????

Please see pic below.....

Its all about supply and demand and the market will determine the price. If those people were to list them for $400, someone will offer them $200. So if they list them for a high price such as $600, then someone will offer them $400-500. Its the name of the game. Not everyone can afford to pay $675 plus shipping for a new pipe so they settle for an older used pipe.

werd.... Boycot overpriced bpipes!!!!!! If people don't pay that much... Prices will go down.

Agreed.

Point I am trying to make: why buy a POS used B-Pipe, when a new one is only $100 more......

That's like buying a used impeller for $250 when a new one is $280.... doesn't make sense to me.

I'll save my money for a new B-pipe.

$100 will get how many 12 packs of beer?

And how many of those beers will you drink trying to unfreeze the old screws.... buy a new coupler, fix the crappy heli-coil on the manifold from the previous owner, buy new screws to fit the holes you drilled and tapped after the screws wouldn't budge, etc etc...

you'll be lucky if you can afford a case of beer after getting the crappy pipe set up to good running shape.....

I never said anything about the supply and demand of NEW pipes.

I was referring to the supply and demand of used pipes. People are cheap by nature. If they think they can save money buying used, then they set their sight on a used item and ignore the alternative of buying new.

So since the supply of USED pipes is relatively low, people jump on them when they come around. If people are willing to pay the high prices, then why would anyone in their right mind sell the item cheap? If they sell it cheap trying to help someone out, that person will just turn around and resell it turning a profit.

The price of any item is determined by people's willingness to pay that price, and nothing else. It has no bearing on the intrinsic value of the item, only the perceived value of that item to the purchaser. I agree that the prices are high, but they will stay that way if people pay them - and why shouldn't they?

I agree, but peeps can ask whatever price they want. It reminds me of the old saying:

"Its their dick and its their soap and they can wash it as long and hard as they want"
:haha:

oh man... you got me good.....:pancake:

I meant the used pipes are overpriced. You can buy a new one right now, no waiting and ships in 2 days. There is a "rumor" that you need to wait for a new one because they make them in batches, and the wait is eternal, hence the high prices for used ones.

Benny

lol so true, just buy a new one and boycot used ones all together.

Amen brother! This will be the only part I will buy new for my build. I only considered one used B pipe, it was one season old and came with a flow control valve for around 580 something shipped... and I missed it cause I don't have the funds to drop like that.... The Great Wall of China wasn't built in a day. Oh well, I'm not upset cause they are so expensive used, but glad I can see a "new" part for once in my life. I've already got my stainless head pipe bolts.

i started a thread a while ago called "whos heard of factory pipe"

http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/62224-whos-heard-of-factory-pipe&highlight=factory

the main problem is people pay this amount for not just b-pipes but other items too.. if i need something i check new prices first... 90% of the time you pay 10-15% more and get a brand new part

this will only stop when people stop paying these crazy used prices
