And I also disagree with peeps saying "If people are willing to pay"..... it would be more like if people are DUMB enough to pay those prices. People like that dude selling a Bilge pump bracket for $500 on Ebay is a DICK.....PERIOD! Preying on newbies.....

out to lunch!

The whole parts selling game is all about interweb hype. It's all how people describe chit. Some people type huge posts, some simple with just pixs and price.
It come down to knowing what your are buying. If the part in mint it is worth top dolla but if it's not it better be 1/2 the dam price. I can't believe people buy the 1/2 the stuff posted but they due.
People should just not buy crap and we should be allowed to call dudes out on it. The whole $6 hundy crapy beat b pipes is bullcrap.

Just because the pipes are readily available new right now doesn't mean they always are.

I would suggest buying new if you can on a pipe simply to avoid the hassle of most used ones...I have been down that road quite a bit before. Plus if you buy it through one of the few dealers left like Kommander Industries or Blowsion you are supporting the guys that support me, the sport, other riders, etc and stock pipes. Factory Pipe will be happy to sell you one at retail also, but they stopped supporting the sport and riders some time ago.

That being said, I'm not going to knock someone who saved $200 and bought a used pipe. It may take a little work but will do the same thing. And factory pipe does a great job standing behind their product with an insane warranty. You can take that used manifold with seized screws you just bought, send it back to em, and they will fix it up for ya.

Just some stuff to consider.

mmmmmmm.....I think I may jack up the price on my B1 then.....ha ha!

They threw the patterns away for the B1 limited chamber, but you should be able to get the mod still. Recently I saw one limited chamber go for $350 USD cash.

I have always said there is an a$$ for every seat. One thing we cant forget is the fact that this is a free enterprise economy. We can charge whatever we want for whatever we want plain and simple. Prices fluctuate seasonally on things and a million different factors are at work when buying and selling which is exactly how our stock market works to get at current prices for goods whether they be tangible or intangible. (tangible = something that can be touched intangible = something like a service company, think Verizon) Same goes with crappy used jet ski parts way down here in podunk. If someone needs something bad enough, and they are willing to shell out the cash, then cash will be exchanged. When people wont or stop shelling out the cash, prices will drop until cash is exchanged.

If someone is willing to pay premium price for a part that is ugly but works then thats fine even if they could get the part for a few bucks more, new.

On the flipside, people that knowingly sell garbage to unsuspecting newbies like myself should be called out. It is up to the buyer to do the proper research, but sometimes pictures and can be deceiving over the internet as well as descriptions of products or in this case, parts. Those people are the people who should be boycotted.

All that being said, I will probably shell out the cash for a new Factory Pipe when the time comes. Mainly because I realize that the hassles that come with a used pipe are totally not even worth effing with to save a hundred fifty bucks. Especially since I also now know that FPP also throws out a killer warranty.

It could be due to a few Factory Pipe Products dealers charging more than retail for them. In the old days you went to dealers to get a discount but now the markup is too low and dealers are having to bump up or just do a favor of service.
I can't see a person paying close to retail for used pipe other than that person thinks the new ones are much more.

i called factory pipe not to long ago. they only make mod bpipes for the b1 and sj now. no more type 9 and limited. it is supply and demand. everyone on here wants the limited pipe. only way to get that is used. the pipe on my ski sells for 1000 used and from what i hear there is a line waiting on them. i do agree with the junkie ass pipes that have come up. i just sold a pretty nice b pipe for 500 shipped. i think that was pretty fair.

And I was the one who bought it. :Banane09:

YES, I do buy used, so that everyone knows I am not just bashing sellers and running my mouth. It was a complete used B-pipe in excellent condition....yes excellent condition. All adjusting screws turn freely, etc....it even came with a set of gaskets....The price was right on and basically what I would pay, top dollar, for a pipe on those conditions.

Remember when selling something on Ebay, be sure to include the key words RARE, BID NOW IT WILL SELL QUICK, CUSTOM, LIKE NEW, USED VERY LITTLE, BETTER THAN NEW, BOLTED ON BUT NEVER USED. Be sure to take pictures of only the good side of what your selling and if you can, take the pictures from about 30 feet away. A picture out of focus is a PLUS!! Be sure to say your selling it for a friend and you dont know much about it, this keeps questions to a minimum. Also besure to charge an over inflated charge for shipping, remember your time to package something is worth about 50.00 an hour OR MORE!!!

Good Luck EBAYING!!

Damn...I didn't know there were companies selling for more than retail. I know that Kommander sells for retail. I certainly would not suggest that anyone should pay more than retail for a new one.

you are not "praying on newbies" if the price you list ($600) is what every other seller is asking too. You are simply asking for the market rate. its not that hard...

(btw I agree otherwise, and recently bought my B pipe new)

B-Pipe tax. No matter how you get one you're looking at $700 to make it look and work nice.
