sup guys, so im currently in NC at mcas cherry point and was wondering if im allowed to launch and beach my ski on atlantic beach? if not where is the closest place i could be able to, my wife loves the beach so if i could find a place i can rride and she can tan close to home it would give me alot more ride time lmao

Pretty sure on the outer banks launching from the beach is prohibited.

Go to the Carolina Beach freeride

im currently in the process of still moving everything up here so it might not be in the budget this year but if i can im definitely gonna go. but outter banks you say? where is that in relation to atlantic beach? also are there any local riders?

Atlantic Beach is on a barrier island, so afaik it is part of the outer banks so you can't launch from a beach, check your local sources to be sure.

Wilmington is the only place I know where you can 4wd onto the beach and launch your ski and ride all day for 30 bucks.

wilmington, i will look into there and see, im not sure what resources i could use to find out this kinda info to be honest im from Florida and my parents pretty much knew which ones you could and couldnt launch from so never had to look it up

I'm 1.5 hours south of Atlantic Beach, my family has a place in Emerald Isle right where you live and it doesn't matter what beach your launching from anywhere on the NC coast it's illegal. You have to launch from the sound/intercoastal side and ride out the inlet to get to the surf. And just about the only place you can do that is here in Wilmington at Carolina Beach where you can drive your 4x4 vehicle out on the beach to the inlet and directly launch from there. Half the time I ride I have to bring my boat as well as the ski out to my favorite island near the inlet so that way friends can come also and I can still ride. I've also got a few friends in Jacksonville not too far from you that ride too.

that sucks :/ i was looking forward to being close to some surf for once but looks like i will still have to make a drive

If your family is ok with camping the Carolina Freeride is quite an economical freeride compared to most others. Although some people who aren't ok with camping get closeby hotels and it's not too much more $$$

I love camping on the beach, but we're still renting a house/condo. :)
Hoping to camp next year again.
