Super Jet ATP EPIC software problem need help!

I can not get my EPIC software to connect to the ignition on the jetski. All the connections are good in the CDI box, and the jetski starts and runs so I don't think there is any CDI issues. The lanyard is connected, my computer says the drivers are installed correctly. Not sure why the software won't connect to the ignition. Can someone please help me, I need to use the offset feature to correct my timing before I can do any riding.

Does the led on the cdi light up when you connect the lead with the computer? I know I had to manually override the driver within device manager on my computer. IIRC I used the com8 port

Also check and see which curve you are in, A or B. It will only connect to the computer in A mode. I have problems with mine sometimes connection, it takes a couple minutes sometimes.

I got it working, thanks for the help guys. I had to try three different computers before it worked, not sure why it works on the one and not the other two though.

if its like car software you might have to select a different com port on your computer. maybe the software has the same option in it as well

I'm having this same problem connecting to two epics I have waiting to go into skis. I have tried to connect on two different computers using various com ports each. Any additional ideas?

I just installed my software, wouldn't connect with cdi. reinstalled drivers, works flawlessly now on my old ass Dell laptop.

Stupid question, do I need to have the cdi all wired up and the battery connected?

yes they have to be connected to a battery they dont have to be fully wired

I would recommend fully installing it, just to avoid wiring mistakes. Mess up the positive with the negative and poof 'paperweight'.

Well I finally managed to connect to the ECUs with a Windows XP laptop at work. The other two computers I was trying had Vista and Windows 7.

I emailed ATP and they said it works with Windows 7.

The software itself works but if you want to flash a unit, you may have to track down a copy of Hyperterminal. It comes bundled with XP but they dropped it off the newer versions of windows.
