atp steering nozzle

Well the nozzle itself is a beautiful piece of work and gives you more throw than any other nozzle I have every tried. It's hard on steering cables though if you don't get everything clearanced correctly.

The attachment point is so close to the nozzle itself that the steering cable hits the side of the pump assembly when fully turned. It requires you grind a section out to get the correct clearance. I didn't get mine right the first or second time and trashed a brand new cable after just 2 rides.

Not all cables are equal either but the kit comes with a short piece of SS tubing that slides over the smaller cables to help beef them up. I recommend the beefier Blowsion or the 06-07 SJ cables of you want to run one of these nozzles.

Mr. OCD! What are you using for the collars/Bushing? I installed mine with the SN nozzle collars and it has more play and is not as smooth as I would like it to be.

I had my machine shop make one up with some material they had lying around. That said I had one for him to match, and it didn't last more than a season. The downfall is because it wasn't the right material, it slowly wore down and mucked up the actual hole for the nozzle, causing it to be a little sloppy once I did order new ones. My advice, don't cheap out, or if you do, make sure you use the proper material.

Mr OCD says all, i ride it in a blaster it s a must have you just need to put a B2 cable to use a max throw of this nozzle.

I sold mine, it trashed my steering cable and had no better throw than my ghetto OEM quick turn mod nozzle
Dont waste your time and money (and aggravation after it trashes your steering cable) IMHO

I haven't given up on mine yet. Just need to find the initiative to pull the pump and grind some more clearance for the steering cable.

I picked up a digital protractor a few days ago so I can measure the angle of my steering and trim. Gone are the days of guesstimation. It will be interesting to measure stock, vs quick steer, vs ATP and see how much of a difference there actually is. It will also work for trim angle.

P.S. I was comparing cables today and the one currently in my ski looks identical to the OEM 06/07 that Jetmaniac just sent me. I'll be bummed if I trashed an OEM cable that quick. :(

following the instructions, I used the tube
which of course slid down on the cable destroying it
Don't waste your time and money on this part

I already bought it and have a few hours at least on it. So far so good. I was pretty meticulous adjusting the steering cable though. I also ride with a friend that has had his for two seasons using the tube without any issues.

This is the only nozzle that I could adjust lock to lock.... It absolutely gives you more throw.... Worth the money and aggravation to clearance the pump and set it up properly can be debated.

The biggest down side is it does not work with trim systems. Nice nozzle ,but you WILL bend a cable if its not perfect.

I went through several steering cables with this set up. If the cable bends at all it will keep bending even it you straighten it out. Awesome machining though. If the pivot were out a little more I would consider getting another, but far more headache than a performer.

have ran the ATP steering nozzle for many years now and love it

does take some time to install correctly (but what doesnt) and i did bend my first cable, installation whilst drinking crown royal is not recomended

so long as you read the instructions and take your time to install correctly you will love this nozzle - its no tthe nzzles fault if you bend a cable - its the installers fault

06 steering cable with no tube on the SJ is still holding up great.

Stock waveblaster cable bent my first time out with the nozzle on. Was using the steel tube too.
