650/X-2 Attaching intake grate?

I hit a log and tore the intake grate off. How do I reattach it. Looks like there use to be nuts built in. Now it is all gone. Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you saying just fiberglass some nuts in there? Is that strong enough?

That's how they do it from the factory

if it was me, i would take a single piece of stainless bar stock, a bit wider than the intake grate, and drill and tap it so that the intake grate bolts up to just one single piece of metal instead of 2 small inserts. then i would cut the hull so that i could get the piece i just made to sit in the hull a little deeper than flush to leave room for glassing over. then id epoxy that sucker in there good, then glass over it.
