Aura handlepole (thru Tigercraft)

I'll preface this with two qualifiers, I'm still newbish and this is my first 'real' aftermarket pole.

I got the pole from @Tigercraft to go on my new hull after I destroyed my LTD pole. It was $800 shipped to my door but that was in March of 2014. Don't know if that price still holds.

Pole is a beauty piece of CNC work. Basic colors are available but I got black with black tubes. I did appreciate that the anodizing matched hues between the clamps and the tubes. It has been about 6 months now and the anodizing still looks good. The fit and finish on all the parts is nice. Good stainless hardware and a stainless threaded rod for the 'safety' rod. The chin pad was included also and was gel coated. It was not turfed. The only thing I felt should have come with it that wasn't included was a steering stop/chinpad brace. I ended up just using the one I made for my LTD pole.

Everything fit together nicely. The cool feature of this pole is that the angle of the steering plate can be adjusted. Im really not sure if I need that. I put it on the lowest setting and had been riding it there ever since. It does give you some more adjustment though to get your steering setup just how you want it. Or just to match the angle of your hood.

I have had both a Cold Fusion (bushing style) and a UMI steering plate on it. Both work well for me. The steering cable housing stop/holder is pretty robust and I like it but it took a bit a machining before I could fit the heavy duty Blowsion steering cable in it. That was kind of a pain but its done and works great. Ther are also a couple of places to bolt the housing stop in so you can keep the lowest stress possible on your cable. That is a really nice feature.

Sorry I forgot to weigh it all before I put it on. I needed to get my ski back on the water! I did take a few pics though and I will upload them shortly.

Summary (opinions of course): competitive price for a top end pole. Fit and finish at least as good if not better than other top shelf poles (no crazy color options though if thats your thing). I am very happy with the way it feels and rides. Im not a good rider but I do punish my gear pretty hard and I have had zero issues. It is a quality pole.

My only minor complaint (this maybe my ineptitude at building) with a standard pole bolt in it, I cannot get the breather tubes positioned so they won't crease. That might be normal but it seemed to be much less creasing on the LTD pole.

Overall I'd give it a top rating. pictures coming next

I have this pole and sold my RRP to try this. I was a bit skeptical since RRP makes quality products but this thing blows RRP out of the water! RRP is nice but overpriced with less features. I haven't needed to adjust the steering angle but having that feature is a great idea to follow the angle of different hoods on different hulls and also to fine tune the ergonomics to your preference. The upper and lower legs of this pole are billet and the craftsmanship is killer! It also includes a chinpad rather than being sold separately for $250 and this is a very nicely build chinpad that flows nicely with the pole and clears 75mm riser bars without modification. Very happy with this pole!

Pretty sure this is the only version and it's lighter than the cast and billet RRP poles but not the lightweight billet RRP ninja pole. But it's also a fraction of the price

Thanks Jamie, forgot to get a pic of the chin pad and on the ski.

Can't remember now if the bushings (nice delrin ones) came with the pole or with the bracket. His bracket is nice work too.

I do like the way the chinpad fits. it is pretty slick

Hard to photograph the black against the white hull. But here is my set up. Disregard the scratches on the chin pad, didn't come like that. I had an unfortunate accident with a crappy trailer/being in a rush/big bump in the road…OUCH. Came out lucky though just lost some gel coat. Tony had one of these poles displayed at Freeride, I think it was $980. At first glance that doesn't seem that much cheaper but when you consider the chin pad included its somewhere between $200 and $300 cheaper than the RRP or Blowsion pole by my quick checking online. Tony (@ridetrp) or Chris (@964Chris), if you want to kick in some info here, please do! How to contact you to order, any specifics, weight or correct my pricing if I got it wrong...

I have the lightweight version. The anno has not faded, chipped , or shown any signs of anything. The only thing I did was add the threaded rod in between the top and bottom ends to hold them together like the rrp poles. The aura pole already has the holes in both bits all you need is the rod. I love it very much <3

I run the light weight one on my V2, and the original version on my SV1. I highly recommend them, I did not care for the chin pad mounting of the xmetal I ran prior. This pole looks better and is easier to adjust length IMO.

Jamie, thoughts of this pole vs XMetal on my freak?

I had 2 non adjustable Xmetal poles which are fine if you know what length you want but they break and the adjustable ones get sloppy. The Aura is much stronger and a much better design
