well if everyone just leaves there pumps on then i guess i will not get the automatic switch. even if i had to replace it every year, it would still be worth the money.

i run 2 1100 gph's and leave them on all the time. somtimes even forget about em and never had a problem. the auto thing would be nice, as the 1100's airlock too.

fwiw, I run the 500 and have never had an issue with airlocking. It may do it from time to time (I don't pay enough attention to know for sure) but I have never had a problem with water ingestion or sinking since I installed it so I really don't consider it an issue.
