AZ Game and Fish made me a HIN tag!

I just came from the AZ game and fish dept. with a ski that I wanted to license. I had no title, it was not already in my name and it was missing the outside hull ID tag. It did however have the inside ID tag. I always call first to see what is all involved. Since there was no title and missing the outer hull HIN they would have to visually inspect it.

They had a machine that stamped out a new ID tag for me. It's a nice alum tag with rounded edges, 3M sticky back with 2 holes for riveting. All for free! Way to go AZ game and fish! Was impressed TBH!

Anybody know of any other states doing this now?

No, it was not in my name to begin with, just a ski I bought with nothing but the inner HIN tag. It didnt even have registration or state numbers(decals) on hull. They did not even know what state it was from till they researched the HIN number.
Yes, call the Game and Fish and they will check it out on the computer while you wait and let you know what is going on and what you need. I'm sure all they will say is it needs to be inspected. If there is no lien on the old title/registration then they will just put it in your name. Its basically "all on you legally" when they put it in your name.

NY just assumes its stolen, you're guilty, and you should be locked up for trying to register it legally....

Comiefornia doesn't care if you're legit or not, they beat you down by making you wait for 4 hours, Then they charge you out the _SS for everything, while telling you how they're doing you a favor! That's why all of these little registration businesses thrive, nobody wants be deal with the CA DMV.

I really miss the Arizona Game and Fish Department. You could by a ski, stop by the AGF department on the way to the lake, get it registered and slap some numbers before dropping in the water. So easy and effortless there. I just registered my ski in Oregon 4 weeks ago and the marine board still has not replied with what regulation numbers to put on there.

louisiana gives you 2 2"x3" handwritten stickers and the wildlife guy has to put them on your boat.
pretty easy to deal with for the most part.
