It would be better if the shiny side was on the inside.

It's all about reflecting soundwaves.

No one makes church bells, trombones or saxaphones out of plastic composites.

They do make very nice carbon fiber guitars, violins and cellos.
pretty cool looking. I saw them make that cello on "How It's Made".

This is very true. However this is actually very different principles. On a brass instrument you need the actual instrument to resonate to amplify the sound.

On a any hollow bodied string instrument, the body needs to absorb certain frequencies to get that certain mellow tone. This is why all old blues players play with hollow body electrics, and not solid body stratocasters like newer blues players.

Well I took it for its first ride last weekend. Set up on my stock '06 motor, stock carbs, ADA head and MSD enhancer. It ran great, excellent low end, didnt seem to have any power loss after it heated up. I was running it super dry, almost no water at all and even though my headpipe was warm and my waterbox was too hot to touch, the chamber was only slightly warm and I could definitly see where it wouldnt heat soak your engine compartment the way a metal chamber would. Overall I am very happy with the way it performed.
