b pipe chamber ?s

Where is it shorter ( what section)
How much can I accept to pay for a blaster mod pipe.I would like to try one on my lamey motor.Maybe try to shorten it

Well I think a new one goes for $200, but I would check with FP about that.

I'd pay 100-130 if it was in great shape. If it had a nice polish finish like Robertg's then I might pay a little more.

If he's still taking time out of his day for PWC questions, he would be able to answer all your questions regarding TNT, Mod and Mod Mod pipe questions . . . . . . including how much to shorten it.

I would guess you might be able to get info on the length differences in the Mod and Mod Mod directly from FPP . . . . . these pipes may even still be availible. They usually respond quickly to e-mail inquiries so here's the address for them too . . . . . . .

Yes, All yamahas use the 'B headpipe, and the newer 701 version pipes have the 46mm outlet instead of the early design 42mm.

the measurement you are refering to is at the outlet of the manifold??
I'm not sure of the production year on mine... I would like to see if mine is the smaller or larger setup..

It's the top round hole of the exhaust manifold. The part thatthe headpipe attached to. Diameter is either 42mm or 46mm.

is that hole supposed to be perfectly round? i could swear my measurements were off by almost +.5mm in some places when i measured it yesterday from different areas.

just curious.

the way I read supertunes post he might have been calling for an oval opening after he modded it.

The OEM holes are round. SUPERTUNE opens them up even further than 46mm on his motors and matches to the headpipe. To open them any further than 46mm you have to be careful though because the water jacket is really close (or at least there is a hollow in the casting there). He made up a non-round template (don't think it's just simply oval though).

It only seems to make sense to me that if you have a 48mm inlet (the carb), the exhaust would have to be at least 48mm to have optimum efficiency of the airflow, at least from a static point of view.
