b-pipe puttin hole in my hull?

Where the pipe runs along the port side of the boat it is rubbin against the fiberglass. On the outside underneath the bond line i can see where it has rubbed away about a inch section and the weld in the pipe is exposed. Its not a whole lot but it is a hole! What should i do? Do i wait till im ready to pull the pipe out and put a few layers of cloth over it?

thanks

1. repair the damage,
2. you need to rotate the pipe to get it away from the hull, or take a rubber mallet and beat the pipe to flatten it out some so you will have proper clearance.

My roundnose hull is heavily reinforced with carbon fiber and the limited chamber has rubbed through the CF. I don't think I can rotate it so it does not rub and I don't want to dent it. It's about a 3inch spot. Any ideas?

drill a hole on the opposite side of the hull so you will match.............. sorry, could not resist.......

you really need to dent it, get a block of wood and a hammer, lay the block where you want to relief the pipe, give it a few nice wollops..........

i made pipe side be 1.5mm higher then carb side so pipe is clear from bottom hull

dont think that would be the same as cutting the chamber 1/8" shorter... there is no control of the sonic wave leaving cylinder to manifold........... all of that is controlled from the headpipe to the waterbox

Think about it....the total path is 1/8 inch shorter.

I think the difference would be minimal if material were taken off the manifold mounting point. If you took 1/8 off in the middle of the chamber you might notice a difference only because the volume reduced would be significantly larger.

I don't think either is enough to get worked up about, I've tried spacing the two halves of my coffman's chamber 1/2-3/4 and it didn't make a noticable difference.

I know it ain't much. But it's not about volume, it's about distance to travel for the exhaust.
In any event, not enough to make a difference.
