B-rads Phantom Build

First off I want to thank Josh (sinisterjosh209) for all the help so far with this build. The guy takes pride in his work, he is a animal and perfectionist when it comes to building these skis. Always there to answer any questions.

I went with his standard infused glass lay up with a little extra beef in a few areas as this is my first am hull so a little extra weight didn't bother me in trade for strength. I went with the two tone also as I've only seen one other two tone phantom at the time of the build. Josh and I went back and fourth with his graphic guy for awhile until we finally were able to come up with the look we wanted and this is what we came up with...

After I picked up the ski, I took it home and brought it straight into the house lol. It was to nice to stick out in my garage at the time. After pondering it for awhile I called Josh and talked him into doing the turf, he hates doing turf! Like I said he is a perfectionist so it only made sense that he did it to compliment the rest of the ski. Here's how it turned out..

After awhile of thinking I decided I wanted to throw some power into the ski so I bit the bullet and ordered a ET967. It wasn't in the plans but you know how that goes with this stuff. It finally arrived the other day. Art from Engine Tech is also another stand up guy that takes pride in his work, check it out..

The ski is living in a spare bedroom at the house currently, getting ready to put it in the garage and start building it. The dresser behind the ski in the pic below is loaded with all the parts for the ski.

I will update the thread as I starting putting this bitch together.

I agree, @sinisterjosh209 is the best to work with. You'll love your Phantom when it's done and ready to ride.
On a side note, why are your Kenny Keepers on your rear motor mounts?

Yea he really knows how to run a business. I knew someone was going to say that about the keepers lol they aren't bolted down though. I was messing with them trying to get them to fit on the couch mounts, they fit really tight on there.

Yea, getting them to fit couch mounts is a pain. I just hit it with the grinder then a few seconds with the scotch brite wheel. You can't really see where you grind them anyways.

Yea I'll look into grinding them, I almost got them as they are now. Yea they go up front but as mentioned before if you look they aren't bolted down. I was playing with the keeper trying to see how close I could get them to fitting with out grinding. The bolts were going through at a angle the way they are now.

Have been slacking lately but finally got a match under my ass after watching all the local boys starting to get wet. Sold the 144 mag and bought a clean oem 155 out of a b2. Bought thrust steering instead of the blowsion I originally planned on. Ran my trim and steering cables and modded the mounting on the pole for the blowsion hd cable. Sealed the pump shoe, sent the midshaft off to the maniac and ordering a prop tomorrow to get started on the pump build.

I bolted the php intake and v forces up but couldn't live with the intake ports roughed out from the cnc so I pulled them back off tonight and pulled out the porting tools. Here's before..

Finally got it out together right in time for summer to be over. Had a few hiccups along the way since the last post till now.

Sent the pump out and got it powder coated, got my prop from skat, all excited my buddy and I assembled it and found out the wear ring was shot. The prop would catch, the liner was rippled and I never caught it before powder and assembly.

Bit the bullet and bought a Solas stainless wear ring and when that showed up the ring wasn't threaded like the oem b2 so I had to source these threaded inserts and tig them on the outside in order for it to work.

Used my buddy's trick bearing heater to assemble the pump bearings, made assembly without messing up the bearings a breeze.

After the pump went together everything went together really smooth from there. Talked Art from ET into trading me my black head for a blue one since he didn't offer it at the time I ordered mine. Nylon braided all the wires through out the whole ski and switched over every single bolt in the ski to stainless allens to keep it cleaner and easier to just pack allens to the water.

Buttoned it up last Saturday and threw it in the truck and headed to the local spot to break it in and tune it with Josh. The jetting we went with was really close on the first try. Going to dial it in this weekend and start to give her the onion.

And yes I did build it in the house haha, everything was brand new with no oil or fuel through so I convinced the old lady it won't smell or be greasy, needless to say she she is happy to have it out of the house now. It stays in the garage now.
