shoot some video next time boss. Just try and do things on that you say benifits from the nose job. I just rode buddies blasters so not saying I can tell a big difference but im sure others can.

I think it looks better then stock thats for damn sure. The stock nose just looks ugly. But seems like a lot of work if I just wanted it to look good.

the ski is awesome and handles WAY different. im not going to bicker about the nose mod. im not trying to go in business selling these just for fun and to give people a chance to make a whole new ski out of their boring old blaster that they might be burned out on. anyone whos felt the benefit of more nose rocker will know its WORTH it. i ride strictly superjets too and not a blaster freak but after doing a few superjets with nose rocker and short rears etc I figured why not try it out on a blaster? come out and ride it before you knock it :)

I got to ride ZIMMY's rockered Blaster :smile:hull at WAVEDAYS this weekend and it is perfect. The control his hull mods give are perfectly predictable, balanced, and the boat now is so flickable its like riding a true superjet/blaster hybrid. The way his hull is cut is visually attractive. He was barrel rolling and more backfliping it effortlessly off of smallish waves. I think if he can get a setup wave right he could flatwater backflip the thing. Its so good the hull in my storage is now going to get cut.

I couldnt agree more! I rode Zimmys Blaster this weekend and it was a for sure deal sealer for me to cut up one of my extra hulls. I have rode both skis and Zimmys is set up perfect for my size & weight, CJ407's ski is a little short in the rear for me, but dont get me wrong its an awesome riding ski as well. The more ppl that have the BALLS to cut up a blaster and see what works is what we need, instead of knocking it before they ride one. Trust me when I say it is time well spent for the end result.

ZIMMY:notworthy: YOU THE F@%&N MAN ON A BLASTER. It was great meeting you.

Thanks guys! The new nose mod and the cut off rear end were such a huge difference in the way the ski rides! After all the work that went into getting it ready for WaveDaze it was great to see that it rode just like we needed it too!
This mod is a definite must if you are a serious surf rider!
The ski doesnt plough coming down a wave face like a stock ski does, and the shorter back end makes slashing waves and backflips some much easier to pull off.

This ski is way more fun in the surf!

Thanks for the props Erik, and it was nice to meet you Jason! let me know how those mods work out or if there is anything I can help out with!

hey carter, if you got one going to the surf anytime, i would love to come ride it! i could meet you in daytona, or anywhere on the east side for that matter!. i have several blaster hulls, i like the idea of it not pearling so quickly, and i only ride in the surf. this looks like a natural progression. hit me up anytime!

If I was to cut one end or the other first just to get the most bang for the buck and minimal down time I was thinking about taking 3" off the back. It seems like it might help more of the time and be a little easier. Less in the back gets the front out of harms way. I definately love a rockered front end though. My old big bore X2s were awsome for waveriding because of the rocker those things have. All my X2s were cut 2" in the back though.

Does anyone have pictures of cutting either end up?

Carter, I really like your rockerd square noses. I think that is the best surf mule out there for the masses. How much did you take off the back of those?

There is a build thread for the purple blaster in this thread that shows both ends being cut up. There are also some pics at the end of the rocker thread showing the front end cut up on another one.
