Anyone know what length shaft the BA uses? I’m assuming standard SJ length?
I forgot to measure before sending it out for paint and I’d like to get one ordered now so I can have it ready to rock when the ski comes back. I’ll be using a skat 155 mag setback but I’m not sure with skat if the shaft will work at roughly the same length as oem.
Standard length for my old -4.3 BA

My Badass has a custom .75” shorter pre08 driveshaft for some reason . I fitted a 148 pump shoe/sb pump in mine and the intake grate hangs way low . The effort you went to make the 155 pump fit is extensive I’m sure I hope it works well for your ski.

Thanks man!
Yeah, not sure why the intake grates all seem to have this common issue. I figured I was missing something but after speaking to 3-4 people that had the same issue I’m not so sure.
We’ll see how it turns out hopefully it will be done intime for the blue marsh ride on the 23rd!

I believe it’s just the way the badass was designed. Everything is as low and compact as possible including the engine which is like a 1/4” from the botton of the hull giving it a very low center of gravity which makes the handling so special IMO. When you chop the throttle on mine after a high speed run it’s like putting on the brakes lol. The hookup is amazing especially in white water surf conditions it’s badass . I’m sure yours will be a beast with that much power .

I'm about to re-set the pump shoe on my Titan because whoever did it before put it too tight to the top of the pump tunnel so you can't get a pump to align with it correctly, I've been living with a shaved pump mounting foot and still a step between the wear ring and the pump shoe. Moving it down to align with the pump is going to put the shoe sticking down like that on mine also. I agree it's the design of the hull with the driveline mounted lower than most hulls.

I've got a 2012 fiberglass badass -4.3 I'm building. Will be running a 148 krash mag pump that has it's own special shoe. With the shoe mounted flush with the bottom of the tunnel, the shoe still sticks up like yours in the pics not as much as yours with the 155 but a good 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch.

How cold is the water where it was setting on the bottom
It was there for different seasons so I’m not sure what the average temp was but the water was 30’ deep for the first 16 months and abiut 19’ for the last 2. I’d say 40-50* maybe?

exhaust manifold installed today and clear coat is laid on the ski.
Had to do some trimming to my gaskets to line up with the bolt holes/ports on these cyls.
Used a thin coat of 1211 to hold the gaskets in the exact spot I wanted then once slightly tacky slapped on the manifold and torqued down. Not very happy with the fitment/casting of the pfp manifold but that seems to be a common complaint.. 28B2FB31-0AB9-4250-B9BC-947BD50AE44F.jpeg3A4E99B1-19F1-45C3-BC64-EC25F8EDE89A.jpeg47258025-8BBF-469A-B28F-5036546EFD30.jpeg

Curve set on brain and plotted.
Looking at 30* static with max timing set a 27* via s6-s8 (1) incase I decide to push my luck down the line.
Thinking I’ll be alright with 15 max retard at 9k rpm putting me right around retarding 2* every 500 rpm we climb past 5k.
Should be a safe-ish place to start.
Also highly recommend these little silicone oem style connectors, can be had from jetmaniac pretty cheap CF6C3165-2D7E-4A81-AF29-1C7D8595BF1B.jpeg
