I also learned that if you just lean back and look back right when you leave the water you will just hood flop. If you squat and hit the wave, and then afterwards throw your body and kick your legs. Once you see the water it's the best feeling ever.. well besides riding out of it. You will learn that water doesn't hurt. Once you get more rotation you get more pumped. I loved those days of learning how to flip. I enjoyed that so much especially if you have good company cheating you on. Wish we lived closer I'd come chill and ride with you guys in nor call doing flatwater

Shortly.... Like 6 months from now when lakes are warm enough to ride again. Damn long a$$ Montana winters!

Hey @Roseand try a 180 setup wake and have some speed. I learned it was better for my attempts rather than the blimp in to the 180 hop. Speed can compensate for smaller power plants to some point. You are really far tho for the short time you have been riding your ski and the power plant size.

glad that i am not the only puss here .. been kicking my self for not have enough balls to really try to wlatwater flip.. 3 years more or less now and no flip.. really hard to get in to that "yes i can" mode and try it. buuut this autumn we find this great surf place (didnt know that there were any in Finland) and i find my balls there !! second time in those 2-3meter waves and i did it!! now i have the courage to try it out and it does not matter do i flip but it matters that i can try it.. and that feeling that is something else feels like i started to really ride that day...
now i have 2 flips and about 30times ive tryed in ocean and i dont get it to spin anymore it´s like im puss again =) but i don´t care because those balls that grow they don´t go away

I'm 100% fearless doing 180 hop flip attempts. Setup wakes i get worried. I was less scared hitting chest high waves today than I am of hitting a setup wake. no idea why. But, I didn't have full commitment on the wave flip attempts so I didn't make it more than halfway. I ended up moving my head forwards, if I would have snapped my head back I probably would have made it around on a few of my attempts today..

You'll get it, it just takes more practice. Glad to see your still out riding.

My seasons done, I had a nod rocking, ha ha. Cranks is going to crank works and cylinders on it's way to Dasa, bummer. I've had a few seasons on that crank. I wish I would of caught it sooner.

Keep up the good work and just fun with it. I have the same feeling you do with set up wakes, so dont feel bad!!
