Other Back Hurts When Riding. Lengthen Handle Pole?

I have a 300sx conversion. Love the hull but still getting it dialed in. My back is hurting when I ride it. I know handlepole lengths are a preference but not sure if I should lengthen mine. It's a goose pole so I would have to weld in some inserts on the tube. I'm a decent tig welder just a lot of work. The first picture is where the guy who did the conversion had the pole. The second is where I had it. It's three inches longer now after I installed a standard length UMI steering plate and offset blowsion bars. Thanks for advice in advance.

FWIW I like the bars right over my front foot when I ride. The way it was looks better to me.

I rode that ski with the rrp pole and it was in a really good position, you could still get over the nose but it didn't kill your back.

I think that was a standard superjet length pole, I know riding surf stance saves my back, rather than riding in the footholds. Footholds are for flips and rolls that's it for me.

Your back will hurt until you ride a lot, and stretch, and work your muscles off the water! Where does it hurt?

I ride a lot and work out 5 days a week so i dont think it's muscle related. I might have to try a spring. It would be a lot easier than lengthening the pole. I do ride in the holds a lot too. Maybe a front hold when i redo my footholds this weekend.

I built my bracket from some aluminum plate I had. Is there anything specific I should know about mounting a spring?

My opinion, if your sore then you rode hard enuff.
If not, go get more gas.........
Lol don't think it matters some days I can't move some I am fine.

Matt_e was right about the pole spring. Tightened my pole bolt up today so the pole barely moved. Worked great. Rest of my body is sore but my lower back feels great.
