backflips are so much fun they deserve there own thread just for talking about backflips i want to do backflips all day long i think about it all the time its like an addiction within an addiction that just cant be beat! i backflip every time i ride now, its what i do. rolls are fun but rolls hurt, i love landing nose first. so soft and cool feeling. off axis backflips are fun to because it almost doesnt feel like its going to come around, such cool feeling! hitting the lip when its perfectly vert and just flying off the lip with wreckless abandon to body and ski. braaaap! world goes away and comes back around again, perfect. push the nose down and stall the rotation just long enough to hit the water perfectly nose in. sick! i want to go backflip now but the waves are tiny, i havent flipped in 5 days and almost got crushed the last time i went for a backflip!
post backflip stuff now.

I am a little disappointed I didnt at least try a flip this year, but it is literally my rookie season on a ski! Next year ill go for it, I almost had myself convinced to do some then I got back on bikes and got a few tattoos so I have to stay outta the water until next season.

Stan,

I completely agree. I LOOOOVE backflips, so much more than rolls. So much easier, so much smoother, such an awesome feeling.
Since I did my first flip a few weeks ago, I did them everytime I went out in the surf.

Your last atempt convinced me that I will never do one. I thought you were dead. Almost jumped in the water to save you...Than there you were riding in.

But I have done them a thousand times in my head! Maybe this winter. Big wave season starts soon!

You might have a point. I had my ski land on my head after I fell out of the holds, and I've dislocated my finger and torn a ligament, all from Backies.
It was worth it.

i cant ride with both feet in the holds......I try every so often but it is just 100% unnatural feeling..

anything I try happens in surf stance..
I agree, It is not natural feeling. I've approached waves just for nose stabs with both feet in the holds and it just don't feel right. Tanner suggested one foot in the rear hold and one foot under the front hold.....feels alot more natural.

I haven't flipped yet, but I plan to have both feet in the rear holds when I do, at least at first. Everyone but me was flippin' today....Josh, Lucas, Chris, Tanner, even Tem..(his 7th ride on a stand-up ski) and (his 3rd time in surf!)

I can't wait to feel what you guys are talking about!

I don't have my feet in the holds for anything BUT rolls and flips.
I should just transition to surf stance for that, too.
