But backflips for beer instead!
I was out riding on Saturday and came across a pretty nice wakeboard boat loaded with people. So I rode up to it and managed about three flips before the boat slowed down and stopped. I figured he'd had enough of me being so close to the boat. So I respected that and took a short floating break myself.
But the people on the boat are waving their arms at me and are hollering for me to come over. I get over there, and the driver is standing on the swim platform with a beer in his hand. He wants me to get onboard and have a beer. Cool!
Turns out he used to race in the 90's and had never seen anyone do a flip with a ski before.
Then he tells me that they want some video and he'll put his wedge down for bigger wake (what is that wedge thing?)
Sure enough, the wake got twice as big - easily the biggest wake I've seen a single wakeboard boat put out. The first flip off that was accidentally without trim and I landed it flat. So after that, I kept doing them without trim. Worked great, much better air.
PS: It wasn't the first time I got beer for backies. Happened to me once last year.
