Backi Chan w/Dasa 1000 + the works completely submerged and rescued

Nice work guys! My scupper completely fell out a couple weeks ago and luckily I was heading to the beach where it started to sink in 10 inches of water.

we were always worried about the hood coming off and this thing sinking, so sinking was always a first thought. those WDK hood pins suck ass for removal, but that can be a good thing. not sure that dual huge scuppers are the way to go on a hull with no floatation. josh broke rule #1, never let go!

You guys did a good job in a bad situation

If my riding buddies watched me almost drown from shore I'd never ride with them again. All hands possible should have been on that ski helping that guy stop it from going under. Damn my buddies don't even own skis and they know what to do. Glad all is good tho

While watching the video i was like "dudes" let your f 'n ski go and grab your buddies sinking ski jeeeeeeezzzz

There was a serious lack of urgency with some of those guys. If I was in that group, I would have thrown my ski to the side and dived down with Josh. A sinking ski is no joke. All in all it worked out.

It's cool your riding buddies were there, but they could have easily parked those skis on the shore and helped you out. A bunch of life vests is better than one or two. Thankfully you guys saved it.

Nobody was sitting on the beach when this went down. We were up river. The guys didn't realize I had no foam and thought we had it. Things happen fast and they responded right when they needed too, or Davy Jones would have a badass ski right now. I'm so thankful for my riding crew, best group of guys period. I shouldn't have rode it without a lanyard. Gonna get some pool noodles in it. I can't thank Droidboy and the rest of the crew enough. I was gonna drown before I let go of it.

Yeah my ski would have been floating down the river and I would have been hanging on to your ski. Lol

Im glad it was saved though.

Good idea @kieth t. Scuppers should be built with a stopper to prevent the flap from extending past ~60*. I've ripped off a few scuppers from over stressing the flapper.

Look at str8huckin's face, he wasn't about to let go!

Do you guys think a couple of pool noodles would have made a difference? If so, I'm going to stick a couple in my ski.

whats the purpose of having one plug in the motor? is that to dry one hole and have the motor turn over to get it out of the exhaust. I have always taken all plugs out till water shooting out is little. then put plugs in and starting fluid to get water out of exhaust system.

We did pull both plugs and turned over the engine to eject the water from the plug holes. Usually pretty cool to watch water shoot up a few feet into the air! This time, there wasn't much to see, so this video clip landed on the editing room floor. :) We put one plug in to fire up the engine and evacuate the last remaining water. The open plug hole allows the water to escape.

You guys have a good crew. The Buzzard came back for me last spring when my ski crapped out on me chasing boat wakes at CFW. Here's a pic of my tow rope. It has carabiners at either end. I wrap it around my waist twice and snap it on. Wear it like a belt. Super fast and easy to hook up skis with. image.jpgimage.jpg
