Custom/Hybrid Backie Chan build

Thought I'd do a small write up now that I've had it out a handful of times.
After I rode Brian's with a cut ride plate (+2 on the sides and +3 the middle from the edge of the bottom deck) I felt right at home so I started with that also. Being 6'2" 220lbs I thought it might ride nose high and be hard to get back on the ski when I fell off. It doesn't ride nose high one bit, and I don't have any issues getting back on it. I was worried about that since I rode the rokr and had issues with that.

I rode it the first couple times with the intake grate in (worx 201) and it carved and hooked like crazy! I took it out for the next ride and it loosened it up a bit but not squirley and still carves nice.

I'm running jetmaniacs 781 with a skat 144 mag and it pops out of the water pretty good. Nothing compared to the chan with the xscream 900 I rode but still fun.

Having a hard time keeping the ebox tight but I haven't locktite them so I will try that and hope it works.

Thanks! Will try to one of these days.

Have to thank jetmaniac for getting me parts asap through this build!

Mirror finish!

I didn't realize how similar our engine/ pump setups are. I haven't cut my plate yet... very nervous since I don't have anything to compare it to. We chase a lot of boats at my local ride spot, i'm out of shape, not sure I want to give up that stability without having another plate to go back to if i change my mind.

Are you running registration numbers yet?

How much do you weigh? You should cut it dude, you'll be happy. I'm trying to get another plate made so I can cut it even shorter and play with it a bit.

I'm 165ish... 5'10"...
My local riding spot is never glassy, and with the amount of boats (deadliest lake in TX) its like a washing machine some days. Light hull+Choppy water+ Speed = Wore out Swapmeet.

Yeah I guess i'm waiting on a second plate also... sorta...

i don't personally own one but have been riding one the past weekend with the long plate, and think about 2-3 inches needs to come off. I'm 185 or so depending on if I just destroyed some Taco Bell or not. The long plates a great ride, but I like em nose high.

At your weight robin you should run it flush. Youll be fine chasing boats the only time youll notice it is at low speed. Im 265 and can ride the flush plate np. I like the 2/3 for my size it makes it easier to recover.
