Backie chan build

Finally ready to build my chan. This is going to be my first build iv been waiting to get most of the parts before starting this thread so it doesn't end up being another unfinished build. I have been wanting to build a ski for almost 10 years now and i finally get to do it, i am very excited but i am sure i will need some help with a few things. I only get maybe a hour or if im lucky 2 to work on my ski during the weekdays but i am going to try and get this put together as soon as possible so i get a few rides in before summer is over.

A quick little summary of the build is:
Backie chan
Xs1000
Pfp
Fs49s
Zeel with charging
Oem 155 pump for now

For the last few weeks i have been trying to finish up the paint so i can start putting it together and today finally got it finished

Nice parts list! Those xs1000's hit super hard when set up right. Pfp waterbox will need to be modified to line up. Cut a wedge off the bottom. Also the limit slip tank is going to intersect with the front of the hatch lip. I haven't tried one myself but was told it doesn't fit.

Thanks! I saw the video of your chan the other day it got me all hyped up again to get mine finished!

I knew there was something i had to do to get the waterbox to fit just didnt remember what.
I dont remember where but i swear i saw the slip tank in a chan with a pfp but it was tight i hope it fits lol

Got some work done the past few days. Got the pump aligned to install midshaft but had to remove pump still waiting on prop for another 2 weeks from impros. Got all the cables ran through the hull and the motor shim'd and bolted down. Getting closer! Its crazy i didnt thing there would be so much modification needed to get parts to fit lol

Anyone have an idea how i should run my cooling lines? I know i have 2 coming from the pump into the head. My pfp manifold has 2 extra outlets drilled out so the are 3 outlets on manifold and 1 at stinger. Would running the 2 extra to a tee then out the hull and run the other 2 regular outlets to their own pisser work? I have both 3/8 or 1/2 pissers i can use. Im using 1/2in from pump to head. I just don't know if that is too much or too little cooling

Maybe this pic will help. you can always plug the extra outlet. i am putting a xscream 1060 in my chan soon collecting a few more parts while motor is being built

Oh the joys of stuffing a 10 pound turd in a 5 pound bag. I am going through the pains right now on my Chan as well. When you mock up the pipe, everything is great. Then you glue your blocks down, and it doesn't fit. Found the fix this morning though, un bolt the engine, and turn it so you can get the chamber in, then rotate the motor to get the coupler on, and wiggle the motor back onto the mounts, and the chamber is on. It has been 4 to 5 days of pure joy around my shop, but it is finally done. I will post pics in a short. 1 thing to really watch out for, the front hood mounting block bolts will need to be trimmed to not bounce off the chamber, and JetManiac water box is a lot easier to use also... Hope this helps you out.

Out of all the build threads i have read through out the years no one has cared to mention how many mother f' words it takes to do a build. Todays total about 40

LOL, I feel you on that, and there were a few over here today running lines. It is never easy, just have to accept that, but when you get it done, it makes it all worth it. Just remember, it can be done.
