Bad Ada coupler

Any one have any issues with bad threads on ada engine side couplers for Yamahas?I had one that spun on to an adr crank ok but wouldn't spin onto two different oem crank ends. Tried some oem couplers to make sure it wasn't the cranks and they went on smooth. Found another Ada coupler in the shop and it spun on the oem crank fine, ordered another set of ada couplers for the other motor and same thing, crank side goes half a turn and locks up. So 2 of the 3 ada engine couplers I have don't work. Any one else have this issue?

Are you sure it is the crank side coupler and not the midshaft side coupler that you tried?

We have never had an ADA coupler with bad threads in over 10 years. ADA will exchange it with no worries, but they are on backorder right now.

I had that happen with a different coupler. You may just need to chase the threads of the coupler with a tap, unfortunately. You could see if ADA can take them back and chase them for you?

Sorry to hear about the set back

Thanks for the offers guys but I had a spare one that worked. I was just curious if anyone else had this issue. Just seemed odd 2 of the 3 I had didn't work and was curious if anyone else had the same problem

We had 3 sets of the ada couplers here that had the same issue. Will hardly thread on the crank. Have to force it with a big bar to get it on. What a pain in the ass. Other brands like rrp able and the oem thread on just fine

It is a PITA when parts have issues. But it happens, and good companies like ADA work to minimize defects and then take care of issues when they arise.

ADA couplers usually thread on just fine, same as oem, but there were a few from that one batch that had that issue. ADA replaced them for anyone who got one and told them or their dealer about it. Not a common issue or a continuing problem that I am aware of. If anyone else has that issue, ADA will replace it for sure.
