Bad Base gasket?

My ski has been running badly for the last few rides and I noticed that the base gasket looks ripped. Was wondering what kind of problems a bad base gasket would cause?

An air leak. does the engine rev to high rpms when out of the water?

It doesn't run away out of water. Sounds normal out of water but runs rough in the water.

Take off the head and take a look at the pistons.
Clean your carbs and verify pop off hasn't changed
Check your ground cable
stator coil or cdi could be going bad
Sacrafice more money to the braaap Gods.
