Bad news if you were planning on buying a new b-pipe for your blaster this season...

Called fp last fall looking for a limited b-pipe for my blaster and the lady informed me that they don't make those anymore. Sh!tty, but knowing I would happily settle for the mod I asked about those. She said they had none in stock but to call back in January. No biggie, my season was done anyways. Call back yesterday ready to drop coin and the lady pauses... and then says they might have some by June, but probably even longer than that till they are able to make more.:confused::17:

Do you know of any retailers that would have some in stock I ask? Um, no, no one will have those in stock she says. I asked her if it was just the chamber they were waiting on and she said they didn't have the chamber, the head pipe, or the manifold in stock. Son of a...

So I collect myself and start putting together an elaborate plan to firebomb the factory and anyone's houses whose last name has any relation to the fp corporation.

:dunce::rocketwhore:

Well, it turns out you can't just go and buy 50 caliber sniper rifles and stinger missile launchers in this country as easily as one may think. So there goes that plan...:Flush:

So I start calling any retailer I can think of just hoping I will luck out and find one somewhere. Low and behold my boys down at Riva had ONE left, not including their display which they didn't seem to want to sell. So, despite the odds, I got one and it sounds like we will live happily ever after.

The End

:smlove2:

Long story short, if you want one of these, you had better get on your horse and start looking for one because I doubt there are many, if any, still sitting around. And by the sounds of it, you'll have quite a wait before more become available. And I didn't ask, but the manifold and head pipe shortage might end up effecting you sj guys as well. I guess it's not all that surprising, but we seem to be at the bottom of the fp priority list.

I hate to say it but- I seriously thought about splitting one open and making a buck, buying some metal and pound out few. I realize I don't have the knowledge to create a pipe, but I can sure cut and weld one. maybe one day if I ever get some free time....

how much do you think they can sue me for??????

Wavedemon keeps telling me that casting a manifold wouldn't be that hard and I want to redesign those stupid screws that seize anyway.

Does anyone seriously know what they ARE making that keeps them from making the parts that they show in the catalogue? I mean they are getting to be a lot like someone else I have heard complaints about.

I didn't realize this was a secret. If they made tons of b pipes they wouldn't go for $500 used.

They were available new last summer and where still selling for 500 used so I don't see the relation.

That has however always had me scratching my head though. Especially when, for someone like me, you'd still have a good $100+ to spend on the bits and pieces once you have the chamber, head pipe and manifold. Going new seemed like an obvious choice...

Looks like whoever it was developing the new Pipe (Waterfreak or Xmetal?) I forget, will now begin to command the market.

And what sucks even more is I am one of the lucky ones with frozen headpipe screws

I think that was the EME exhaust system that was priced right around 1K.

Seems FPP pipes will reach that soon, so why the hll not buy the EME.

The price of a new B pipe has really NOT increased as much as it might seem. They were over $500 in the mid nineties. How much did gasoline cost then? In today's dollar's they're probably a bit on the cheap side. Used prices are just high because of the small supply and high demand.

A little Off topic, but since there is some talk.

I think it would be great for someone new to step up to the plate, and create a new pipe + manifold. You gotta think, the b-pipe and manifold has not changed much at all even from the 650 days. The system works great, but anything is possible to improve upon!

But then again, just like at Jeff (WDK) from what I understand his 66E exhaust has came along way from where he started..... lots of test and tune.

Whoever wants to make a exhaust better be willing to come up with a proper dyno tune setup.... then I think you could really pull some crazy power from these 1000cc+ motors.... not that there not crazy already, but you could truly see how much power you are getting, and where it comes in.

If Jet skis were as big as MX, do you really think the B-pipe would be forever unchanged? There could be a better pipe built.... but who, that is capable is actually going to put down the cash to buy a Dyno, and spend God only knows how much time to come up with a exhaust that works better then what is already out there.... If its not as good as a b-pipe, who would bother? Even if something amazing came out, how many are gonna sell? Maybe 200, then B-pipes will be cheap, and the 200 rich people will have the latest and greatest, then the company will only sell very few. Are sport is just to small for new development.

And will we ever see this EME exhaust?

Or someone could by the rights to produce them from factory pipe. It seems they really don't want to anymore so I can't imagine it would take that much dough. All the tooling and design work could be part of the deal. Sell the originals until you make enough profit to fund a new design and go from there. Unfortunately, I'm not sure our little niche market could support it and I guess that's probably the root of the problem.

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
I would not always listen to what "that lady" has to say... she is weird.... cindy or something isnt it? The one time I called them she didnt even know what a "b-pipe" was.... I had to explain it to her for a minute or two and finally she got it.... the other time I told her one of my screws on my brand new b-pipe was messed up from the factory--> and she told me that I had messed up the screw myself and that I was prob. lying to her... why the F would I lie about a part that cost a few bucks when I just bought a $700 part from you lady????? great woman...

Maybe she is right this time... but she is still a bit crazy IMO

And has anyone else called to buy a pipe and she says it is the last one they have??? just curious...

I'm so glad i was able to find a complete superjet b-pipe setup from my buddy. I got to look at it up close before i bought it, and the screws were not "stuck in the right place for bottom end" lol. I just love that quote. I also think it's retarded that they do not make enough. Someone needs to step up and make a comparable pipe, that mounts and is routed the same way. Maybe even update the chamber for some better performance. If someone redesigned it just enough so that it would not be a copy, they could be rich selling them at $500 a pop. JMO
