So I have to decide on a new battery and cant make up my mind. I'm between a ballistics 12 cell or a deka 12. I have heard from more than one person that the ballistics are'nt lasting that long before they start having problems with them and they go to sh*t.
My set up will be a 4mil stroker engine with Total loss, PFP, about 230psi of compression on race gas.

I want to hear some feed back from other people who have been running the Ballistics for at least a few months.

I run the 12 cell Ballistic on my ski, love it, huge weight saving and nuts cranking amps for what it is. Had for about a month now, no problems, just don't over tighten the terminals, hah. I have a buddy running the deka, and he loves it, not as light, but he loves it. Maybe run the 16 cell with your set-up? 12 cell wouldnt have a probklem through

I've been running a 16 cell for a few months now without issues. 10mm stroker 970cc with TL.

Same boat here...
I dont care about weight... Just thinking about it to have it feeding my MSD TL for longer time.... Like, 3 days.

I thought I was having an issue with my 12cell but turns out I have a prob with my charging system. I've been running a heavy total loss. I can ride a few tanks (5-6hrs) before I have to charge it.

Ride time isn't what I'm worried about. I have heard of a few people who have the battery crap out on them and they have had to send them in to be replaced

We've warrantied about 10 Ballistics. The only way to start our 1000cc with a Ballistics is out of water, and drop it in while the skis running.

12 cell?
I've had a 12 cell go tits up pretty quickly, but my 16 cell is working flawlessly with my 1000.

I have run my 12 cell all summer on my 701. It has pulled me to shore (100 yards) when I flooded it once. still had plenty of juice to get it started when I cleared the fuel out. I did pack the charging connection with grease to keep it dry.

I have had one for about a year on a charging ignition and had no problems and then 4 weeks ago it quit, I contacted them and said the where fixing a problem they had and I would get one of the new battery's. They sent it too me in 2 weeks and did not even ask for the old battery, as for turning over a big motor I have a 920 dasa with a 180lbs comp. and it spends it over better than any gel battery I have used before and I just have a 12 cell and the Ballastic battery puts out more than 13 volts.

i have a shnoria battery that puts out 155 crank amps charges so quick you can hook it up to your car battery and steal a little power also it takes any one of my three ski minutes to put a charge on it, 86 kawai 550 witch uses a massive starter and it will start my 701 super-jet and my 650 x2. the only down fall is if your ski isn't starting properly then you drain the batterie quick, witch is why i use a lead base batteries the do all my tuning. the shnorial battery cost me 139. 75 shipped to my door, and weights only 1.5 pounds. me and no one i ski with thought it would work, but were we wrong. had the batterie for about a year now and i have drained it and charged it several times now and no problems at all. i know I'm catch some beef from people for it, but the only other thing i will comment is when the batterie dies the first time you just wait about 10 to 15 minutes and you get about another 10 seconds of high rev start power to your engine. for my this works cause my ski start on a dime and never hesitate. if your ski take a few seconds to start i might not get this one., but if you wanna lose 10 pounds off the front end and your ski starts like it should then cant go wrong for the price.

I had one of the balance tap pins break on my battery. So when I used the balance charger it would come up as a dead cell on 4s, now I have to charge it without balancing, which only reduces the life of the battery. Other than that the 12cell has worked very well on my 900cc 10mm MSD TL.

Comparing the 12 cell vs the Deka 9, you save about 5lbs however you can buy two Deka 9's for less than one 12 cell...Deka's are proven reliable and I believe someone here posted they had good ride time with the TL. For a full day of riding with TL one can switch the Deka's out with quick connects...5lbs of savings sounds nice and so does reliability.....Hmmmm decisions.

12 cell 2.5 lbs
Deka9 7.2lbs

Correct me if wrong...

Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Deka. It'd be nice to have a 2lb battery but i'd rather have one that will last. I'm not one to throw my money out the window
